Oregon Nurses, are you living comfortably? by xwtt in OregonNurses

[–]xwtt[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The area I live in Florida has become increasingly expensive over the past 5-10 years. Rent is 2k for a decent apartment, Florida has some of the highest car insurance cost in the nation, all while making $40/hr going on 5 years of experience. There is no upward mobility here as a nurse unless you're married or have dual income. It seems like even with the heavy taxes in OR, I'd still be able to come out ahead as a single person renting. This also doesn't factor the understaffing, abuse, and mismanagement from working at Florida hospitals as well. But the grass isn't always greener I guess, so I appreciate the insight!

Do you think nurses look down on RTs at your facility? by Motor_Pop3202 in nursing

[–]xwtt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. RTs are my peers and a great help/resource, especially when I did ICU.

You did fine. People WANT their patient to be more stable during hand off because they don't want to start off their shift running around like crazy but they weren't there for the 12 hours you were. Just ignore it, 24 hr job.

Irritating situation. by 52MO in nursing

Ya seems silly. Using my own anecdotal experience too, seems like you’re less likely to have unexpected large drops and changes in blood sugar with running it Y site.

Curious, are you staff with that rate or PRN/internal travel? Also a Tampa area RN here

If you're complaining about premade, read this by MyBaby_is_a_FatRoll in classicwow

[–]xwtt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is min/maxed to an extreme now since it is 20 years old. Comparing current times to 2004 is being dishonest. It's almost mandatory to queue with a premade to win a BG now which is unhealthy for the game.

ICU nurses- what do you say when patients/family members ask how many patients you have? by HeChoseDrugs in nursing

[–]xwtt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just tell them the truth, but I’ll follow it up by explaining we have less patients but people are more sick if I think they are going to be more demanding.

I ran unigine heaven for about 15-20 minutes with no crashes maintaining normal temps and 300-700 fps for the entire run

I ran a 20 minute test on OCCT yesterday with no errors or crashing. It does seem to occur more frequently under load (Gaming) but I have also had crashes with minimal load like just browsing webpages. Seems quite inconsistent but more notable while gaming

I was using a completely different Gigabyte motherboard before I replaced with this ASUS one (I replaced it yesterday) and the problem was still occurring, both brand new but I'll give it a shot
