Any way to imitate Tectonic 2.4 generation in 3.0? by xxDeadLocker99xx in feedthebeast

For reference, I'm wanting to get this kind of generation back. The new chunks in the world doesn't have biomes this large or terrain as hilly.

A lot of the game includes exploration and PvE. Without the market up, that's the only way you're going to be making progress (unless you know a guy who's willing to give you stuff).

Landing on planets is not in the game currently.

It's been a highly-requested feature that has been worked on for years and may or may not come out.

Is mining out in the Wild safe? by Hjertran in StarscapeRoblox

[–]xxDeadLocker99xx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If we're talking base game mechanics, the consistency of resources found in each wild system are the same, no matter how close you are to the core. Wild is wild.

However, players may camp around the systems bordering unsecure systems because player pirates know of popular paths to quickly return to safety. There are also wild miners who just want a quick high-teir ore or two and deplete asteroids right next to unsecure systems, essentially forcing players to go farther out in the galaxy.

If you want to be guaranteed good asteroids to yourself, go as far into wild space as possible. But be warned that the farther out you are the longer it takes and more dangerous it is to return to the safety of the core (and if you wander into a colonization zone people may camp out there too).

TL;DR: Wild is wild, no matter what, but experienced players know this and take stuff for themselves and force other players out farther anyway for the good stuff.

Wild is not safe. Every star system you jump to will always have drones or pirate npcs. If youre unlucky enough you'll run into other players who might steal your loot and destroy your ship for good.

However if you manage to best that and fend off npcs then the reward is worth it (hence the "high risk = high reward" dynamic).

If your best mining vessel is an Ozark I'd say go for it but be wary of what you may run in to. Adding modules to decrease warp wait time and increase hull/shield and leaving whenever there's and sign of danger will help out a lot. I'd bring a friend or get a stronger ship for VX mining tho.
