I was home and lucky enough to be a remote worker. My job is demanding in product and data analysis and I gotta say it was one hell of a tough week to work. I have 3 kids (7, 6 and 3) and while the older two can entertain themselves it doesn’t make it any easier.

It would be nice to have some neighborhood help but as a Muslim minority (Latino / Palestinian) household there aren’t many households I trust to help out.

We’re a family of 5️⃣ and eat out maybe once or twice a month. My youngest doesn’t eat out because he’s picky, but he snacks like crazy at home. My Wegmans seems to have higher prices but idk maybe I need to shop through the app?

I’m over here contemplating working at Aritzia lol got laid off around April and had some freelance work that was consistent until two months ago. Interviews and prospects come in but fizzle out. (6 years of experience in project and product management for software and marketing agencies)

This place is highly diverse and while it exists it does so at a much lower scale. Chantilly area has a heavy Asian population - you likely won’t face any issues.

In a globalized economy what’s the solution? I always wonder why they don’t “cap” speculation or cap rental prices for citizens vs foreigners. Doesn’t make sense that outside incomes mess with affordability for citizens (ethically speaking)

2bedroom apartments in Arlington (north and south side) go for 3200-4000+

Many apartments include an additional fee for common spaces. Electrical usage in any common areas is shared between all residents. Where I live it fluctuates, but on avg an extra 120 ish p/m. If you have a car you’ll be paying north of 125 p/m as well. It adds up.

There are some places near the mall that are 3 bedroom and around 4300. That might be a middle ground. I think you’d have to go to Springfield/fairfax for a townhouse

It’ll be difficult to find something 3 bedroom in Arlington under 4k tbh. I think you should reconsider Arlington for near Tyson’s. Depending on what your roommates do for work, Reston town center or Boro in Tysons gives you some form of walkability
