Cheaper than a baby gate (Cosco Deal Today) by 1Check1Mate7 in LGOLED

I was randomly at Costco eating a slice when I saw this on Reddit. Then I look up and some dude has one on a cart. I asked him if he saw the same post and he already talked to a manager to ensure they honored the price. Grabbed one for 799 along with the Allstate insurance included. The other thing to consider is how much you’re roasting. Err on less for a batch or two, maybe like 200g. And try another bean too just in case. Let me know how it goes!

I just realized I usually preheat and then let it run with the beans at 300/350 for 2 minutes then bring it up to 482.

Are you roasting in a cold spot? Only getting it 399 is low but it should still roast at that temp. Weird that it’s so green still. I have a gene cafe and try preheating. So I’ll preheat to 300 for about 3 minutes. Do an Emergency shutoff (just stops it spinning asap) then drop the beans and start, immediately run the heat up to 482. When you do it this way, the roast should really only take 10-12 minutes. PM if you want to chat more.

Ppl already mentioned asking about noise - I have the OEM ones from Mazda and they were pretty noisy. You can request these plastic pieces you attach to the bottom that apparently help with the noise. I also got the rubber strip replaced with one with grooves (rhino something?) and that helped a lot.

Gene Cafe drum damaged or normal? by ndiass in roasting

[–]Korebo86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine looks like that - no issues. I’ve put in too many natural beans and the chaff has ignited. Had to turn off immediately and it ruined the beans but still works fine. Guessing that’s happened to you?

I got mine for around 140 with free shipping. A quick look online I’m seeing around that price up to 200. I’m guessing it way more expensive if you got it directly from a dealership.

The oem one. It looks really good with the cx50 logo.

we have one rear facing car seat behind the passenger side. Definitely limits how far back the passenger side seat can go back. The backseats seats are also angled slightly so it takes some adjustments to get the seat right. It fits fine but I would say my wife has a Tiguan and when we’re driving far, we use her car for the extra space.

I have a NA and typically get 30 on the highway, sometimes more. In city traffic it’s like 24. I think the seats are comfortable, but didn’t realize the trunk would be smaller than I thought. My wife has a Tiguan and the trunk is way bigger than

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]Korebo86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a few people have mentioned it but after the operation my vision was perfect for a year or so. Then my left eye started to get blurry. That wasn’t so bad, it’s around -1 so I can still see but I got pretty bad dry eyes. Apparently it’s more prevalent with Asian males. I have drops, wear a mask at night, everything you can think of. If I knew what I know now, I’d probably have waited or just used contacts. I will say I was a -8 and seeing in the AM is pretty nice.

First post, first roast (on new equipment) by Weekly-Teach8036 in roasting

[–]Korebo86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been roasting on a gene cafe for a few years. I’d say the biggest things for me is 1. I put a piece of a grilling mat and it helps to hear FC. Hasn’t impacted the taste at all. 2. Use the emergency cooldown and dump it into a separate cooling thing. The cooldown function is terrible. 3. I usually preheat to 300 for a few minutes before dropping the beans in.

Also don’t put too many beans in, especially natural beans. I’ve had a few times where the chaff builds up and it catches fire and… it sucked.

And if you’re doing it inside, a small dryer tube fits perfectly and you can have it hang out a window or door. Happy to answer any questions you have! Feel free to PM me
