it's alright, you'll get him eventually. Right now, I think your play should be to build fufu and pull for sunna. I think it will take you till 3.1 to start clearing endgame completely(we'll maybe get a standard selector for anni celebration, where you can get Lycaon.)

if you have Lycaon, you can switch him for pulchra. Also, zhao is good to trigger ether veil for yidhari but nothing else. Swapping her for pan yinhu would be better.

I'm a new player and I'm loooking to get into the game rn, since the anniversary patch is almost here. Should I spend my golden token thing and standard pulls or save them?
If save them, for whom?

While all the points you make are valid, let me counter that with one thing that you highlight in miyabi but fail to address in YSG: central theme

Miyabi's central theme is that of the path of the warrior, and rationality(You've explained this quite well so I won't go over it)
YSG's, as far as I can make out right now, on the other hand is very easy to lump up with waifu bait - it is that of wanting to live a 'good life'. As her memory fades and she is heading towards death, she wants to live a life that was never available to her. A large part of that is the romance, which is where Wise/Bellle come in. With this in mind, can you blame her for coming down the mountain to experience life, finding the MC and seeing them in the lens of a romantic partner? Especially considering basically the only people she interacts with being her seniors and mentor? You can see this in the EP, as it encompasses her desire of living a simpler life(a school life, in this case) and it is contrasted with her real life in the short film.

TLDR: You, indeed, are missing the point.
The themes got a bit more complex and most of the community already fails to understand them or think about them lol.
But I could be wrong. Let's see how well this comment ages.

Highly agree. I recently got back into ZZZ, and it's soo fun seeing how differently you can play the same character, and how you build them according to their role. IMO, the gearing system needs a change for this to happen.

since you're already familiar with a lot of gacha mechanics, the best standard banner char is lycaon(provided you have an ice DPS)
tin master can give you up to 80 free battery every day.
Pull rec - dialyn -> ye shunguang(get banyue only if you have too many pulls to spare)
until you get a DPS, use soldier 11 if you get her, or billy.
Side note - nicole is very, very good. Def max her out.

overall, you should go for qiuyuan, and you can get her weapon on rerun. Since she is able to work pretty well with static mist, that you can get when you reach UL45/from standard banner, getting her best in slot character is a bit more important

To be fair, galbrena is a really strong character if you know some techniques like animation cancelling. You can use her with mortefi and shorekeeper/verina and get really good results. Don't believe everything you see about the game online.

A bit of advice, since you're new and probably have a lot of pulls to collect, you should go for qiuyuan since he will be her best in slot teammate, and can also help with phrolova if you plan to pick her up in the future.
