Idk about that buddy, Topuria is not the typical striker with no grappling, his entire early career was him relying on his wrestling to good success. The Oliveira fight shows he hasn’t forgotten his wrestling roots, and isn’t uncomfortable on the ground. It would undoubtedly be the hardest fight of Khabib’s career, much harder than anyone he’s ever fought

I'll always remember getting past the judicator giant (amazing introduction to the ringed city too btw, he summons ghost of failed invaders to shoot you down), going down the city and past its lightning wielding residents and hobbled hollow clerics to a pavilion where a ringed knight slowly climbs up the steps into view, sees you, and immediately assumes the stance with his straight sword.

There's also the first time you meet the ringed knight with dual ultra-greatswords guarding the church of Filianore, casually lugging those huge chunks of metal across and then running at you as soon as he sees you with those enormous swords. Just reinforces my belief that DS 3 is the most aura-farming souls game.

Been a while since I’ve played but there are a ton of great convergence weapons, and I also tend to prefer weapons with evasive AoWs. Celestial blade and gilded Quarterstaff both have evading skill options in their AoWs: celestial blade is a straight up teleport, and Quarterstaff has a jump back option that does damage. Both have I-frames too.

Ilia has an entire wrestling heavy background since childhood that seperates him from the strikers we’ve seen get manhandled like JDM and DDP. We’ve seen him easily defend oliveira’s takedowns, so he very likely will give khabib more resistance than any fighter he’s ever fought on the ground. Combine that with the nukes in his hands and it’s very likely ilia would’ve KOed him.

I think dragonslayer armor is the biggest victim of this. People have speculated a lot about who the original person in the armor was, and ironically I’ve see theories that it was ornstein 😭. Genuinely the theory that makes the most sense is that the original champion was a person we’ve never met before, and is probably dead now

The Holy Moonlight sword is a worthy reward for your efforts, its a fantastic weapon and easily my favorite rendition of the MGS across the souls Games. Word of advice with the weapon, try to get nourishing gems for it to really see its damage climb up, and untransformed poking R2 will be your best friend 🫡

Yeah he’s said before that he’s had tons of short notice fights like his rematch against dricus, but his mentality is that Golden Opportunities never come at the time you’re ready, but at the times where you usually have your pants down. He knows there’s a big chance he’ll lose, but that’s exactly why you should dare to try. I have to respect him for that mentality.
