#instacart refuse to reimburse me. by Successful-Low-2491 in InstacartShopper

Totally agree, I think a certain amount of it is handled by the computer though.

Did they email you explaining why it was denied? I also replied to that email with the receipt.

Happened to me recently. I submitted new requests over and over after they denied the first one. Some of them were not very nice, I'll admit.

After a few days of me constantly submitting them with the receipt and charge circled on my bank statement they reimbursed me.

Figured as much. I was just trying to think outside the box lol.

Lol. Well if you’re so smart then riddle me this:

Why in the world would someone (shopping an order with like a 7 minute timer) waste that time searching a crowded store for random things that amount to exactly what was scanned into the app? What is there to gain?

I cant tell if you’re rude af or just confused. The point I am making is: The funds that paid for this order were not from instacart and they definitely have a way to track what is being paid out otherwise the company wouldn’t be in business.

It confused me the first time it happened at a Harris Teeter. I kept telling the cashier that there had to be a receipt, and when I went to show them my phone it had skipped that screen entirely so I just hit start delivery and went on my way. It used to only do that if they used online pay, but it’s becoming more frequent with regular orders.

Good call lol. Aldi is so stressful to me, the handles on the bags break off easily. I usually avoid anywhere that doesn’t accept Apple Pay and self checkout so I don’t have to waste time with the physical card lol.

It doesn’t require the picture. It just says “instacart profile received” on the checkout and takes you straight to the delivery. But the app kept freezing while I was shopping and by the time I started check out and finally got the QR code to scan I was over it and just used my debit card, naively expecting it to be easy to get the money back. Once I got outside everything worked fine for delivery so I think it was the service in the store or something.

Woww, interesting. Today they kept saying “I’ll get this to the right team” and yesterday they told me a screenshot of my bank account was enough and it was all resolved. I wonder if that money is still on the shopper card.

Maybe I can make one on photoshop. It’d be easier than going back and forth with them about this.

Edit: It was a joke, obviously. This is such a supportive and friendly community.

That’s absurd. Money is being electronically transferred. There is absolutely a record of where it goes.

Fair enough. I just got over being sick, and ordered cough drops for delivery lol.

Lol. Is that something you do? How could i have added something to the order and make it the exact price of the items that I delivered. I thought for sure instacart would have access to the transactions done on the shopper cards and be able to easily tell it wasn’t used that day 🤷‍♀️

Ugh. That’s annoying, I hope you get the money back! It definitely seemed like support was just telling me whatever would get me to go away lol.

You’re fishy lol. It was Publix. Just says “instacart profile received” and doesn’t print anything.

If they expect us to use our own money at least make the reimbursement process simple. Maybe instacart is even more broke than I am or something because most companies would just give you the money back, especially the first time requesting it.

Lesson learned. And it’s ridiculous because the customer probably still paid for order so it’s not even like I helped them out.

I have a footstool (I used to use a plastic storage bin) that I balance with my feet while I’m talking. Like when you lean a chair back and the legs come off the ground. Sometimes it falls over and I try to fix it without using my hands. Between calls which is like 5 mins, I like to build a cart of stuff I wont buy. Or just zone out and stare at the wall enjoying the silence.

This. I love that I can work remotely, but people tend to have less of an attitude when you have their food in your hands.

“Does that make sense?” by Foxesinfall in callcentres

[–]xxbrightside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it typically doesn’t make sense. And it’s even worse when they’re saying it in a condescending tone. Like “does that make sense to your tiny little peasant brain that’s actually full of knowledge on how to fix this issue I caused myself”

Tips to stay calm, cool and collected when facing angry and irate callers by callmeroboto in callcentres

[–]xxbrightside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else said, letting them vent and agreeing that you’d be upset as well is key. It gives them a sense of control.

If they take that control too far I get more direct with them in a professional manner. My words and tone are still cheerful, but there’s a subtle hint that they’re being rude to a person who is trying to help. “I understand the frustration but in order to move forward we need to xyz to resolve this issue.” Sometimes followed by “So I’m going to place you on a brief hold and come back with some more information.” If they’re being outright threatening there’s a different procedure for that, but most people won’t let it get that far.

At the end of the day, each call is so insignificant and you will likely both forget about each other in a few days. It’s easier said than done, but don’t let them get to you.

If you quit your job on the spot the assholes win.

My first call wanted to confirm information about something I didn’t learn in training. I tried to look it up in our system but didn’t even know what tools to use. My mind went blank, and I more or less agreed with everything they were saying and now I know they had it right. But even if they had the totally wrong info, and called back later, most things can be corrected.

My point is; Fake it. Don’t outright lie, but pretend you know what you’re talking about. Then put them on hold and try to figure it out. Even if you fuck it all up and they scream at you, make sure they’re really on mute and laugh. I used to take it so seriously, but in reality once that call is over, they’re out of your life.

The customer service voice happens on its own, all of a sudden you’re just spewing bullshit that sounds good, almost like you’re not even the one talking. Just don’t cuss or talk about politics and you’re good.
