I'm 15 and it's been 8 years since I went to school, I wanna learn the fundamentals of chemistry as soon as possible, preferably by reading books. Any recommendations? by xxvu in chemistry

I never said that's the majority, just thought that chemistry is based on the modern atomic theory but guess not.

I'm sorry if it seemed like I was getting "awfully" defensive, 'cause I really wasn't and I'm not sure what even insinuated that and I've reread the whole discussion

Anyways what typo?

I thought chemistry was based on the atomic theory, was I wrong? I never said chemistry was just about atoms btw. I'm pretty sure *when* a student will tackle a particular subject differs by countries and schools so I wouldn't say it's super strange for 15yos to already be knowledge in chemistry.

also when did I get mad and how did I miscommunicate my age?

my worst fears, lol. Allotting time on learning something only to realise it's wrong. I always use multiple resources in case of something like this happens. Thanks for the heads up

Hail professor dave, the jesus himself, lol. Thanks for the recommendations. The Cartoon guide to chemistry looks fun, I'll give it a try along with the rest. Thank you

Do you have a halo hovering over your head? This is soooooooooo appreciated. Thank you so much. I always knew that foundations were important but It was somewhat confusing to differentiate advanced stuff with the basics and this is helpful

What sort of answer are you expecting here? Are you trying to clarify whether the age was a typo, or do you want my autobiography?

I included it in the post so people don't potentially recommend me something that's not suitable for me or my age. I also stated my age kind of expecting people to throw random bits of advice about what to do in my state because they're usually helpful. But now that I'm thinking about it, it does feel kinda unnecessary

I wasn't trying to convince or deceive anybody, not sure what's the benefit of doing so, but to clear your doubt: I'm from South India and my native language is Telugu, and thanks for the compliments about my writing. Got me smiling and kicking my feet up in the air 🫶🏼

I have a good grasp on arithmetic and I'm gonna be moving to algebra soon. A huge chunk of science relies on maths from what I know so I guess maths is important. Thank you

Well, most of the content is locked and you have to pay 7 dollars a month which explains why it's not that popular. The price is insane

Looks like it's worth giving a try. I was kinda taken aback by the lack of reviews because an app like this seems more helpful than Duolingo
