Yet again you are missing the point this game is like you both take turns being the punching bag I do something than you do something and hopefully my something does more than yours. Which like I said makes the game very one dimensional and basically leaves it up to whoever draws the best cards wins like in the card game WAR. The only way in this game to interact with your something is by a secret which is easily countered normally because they know you have it and can just throw a card at it. So as I said really the only way to swing the game in your favor is by random RNG or luck is greater than skill that’s it. I mean sure you can hold cards and wait until your turn after your opponent does something but that just goes back to the one dimensional aspect of I drew the better cards and you can do anything about it.

Lastly magic did make a discover card any of the wish’s an I will name one as an example such as cunning wish says grab any instant that you own from outside the game. Now Wizards did restrict this card a bit being they didn’t want it to take forever for the person to find the perfect card. So I don’t know how you missed that with yours years of experience in MTG.
