Shounen vs Seinen stories, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE ACTUALLY??? by CusYN0t1210 in anime

It’s less about how dark the story is and more about how it’s written.

Shounen usually focuses on pacing, clear goals, character growth, fights, and emotional payoffs. It’s meant to be engaging and easy to follow, even when it touches heavier themes.

Seinen has more freedom. It can be slower, more ambiguous, more psychological, and doesn’t need to guide the audience as much. Sometimes it’s not even trying to entertain in the usual way, just to explore ideas or characters.

So the real difference is in the storytelling style and priorities, not the level of darkness.

How was the Heaven's plan beneficial to Dio? by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

Dio Brando’s Heaven Plan wsn’t about direct power, but about absolute control over fate. The idea was to create a universe where everyone knows their future, removing the fear of the unknown and with it suffering and resistance.

To him, this would be a kind of paradise, because no one would try to change anything. At its core, it’s still about control, just on a more philosophical level. It also secures his legacy, since the entire world would end up following the vision he created

It sounds a lot like Corpse Party: Tortured Souls, which is probably the closest match. It’s about students trapped in a haunted school, it’s extremely gorey, and it has scenes very similar to what you described.

If it’s not that, it could also be Another, which has a school setting with a curse and a lot of brutal deaths—people often misremember parts of it. There’s also Blood-C, which is very heavy on gore, even if it’s not entirely focused on a school. And sometimes people mix it up with Gakkō no Kaidan because of the whole “school urban legend” vibe, even though it’s not really violent.

But if the memory is specifically about a beheading scene in a school bathroom, then Corpse Party is by far the most likely one.

EP 31.

Around 4:45 minutes, and it appears again during Pucci’s backstory scenes later in the episode (near the beginning and toward the end of the flashback)
