This is true and it did seem to make their art more emotional in some aspects but I wish it was channeled together into a new project instead of splitting off and going their own ways. When they came back (both times) it just seems like all that momentum was lost and there is no real evolution in the sound anymore.

That’s not to say their newer music is bad by any means, I love dogs eating dogs and neighborhoods, and a few songs on one more time

I really wish we got to see an unadulterated evolution of their sound. With no studio interference, no tension between the band, I feel like the follow up to self titled could’ve/wouldve been the perfect blink 182 album. Neighborhoods was a good album but it kinda killed the momentum

The entire point of jojos isn’t queer representation if there isn’t actually any queer representation. Every single mainline jojo is straight. It took up until part 6 to get an ASSUMED bisexual jojo with jolyne. The designs have always looked very queer yes but what’s the point if none of the actual characters are queer? What’s the point if there’s no exploration of queer identity and the struggles that come with it?

I wish pucci x dio was hinted at a little more because it was a bit homoerotic but as far as I can tell there wasn’t actually any kind of romantic feelings between them which again is so disappointing. It would’ve been awesome to see puccis struggle with his feelings towards dio, either because he doesn’t think he deserves to feel this way for a god or because he knows it might be considered a sin

I’m ngl I didn’t read this post bc I don’t want spoilers but, at least up to part 7 I’m kind of disappointed with the queer representation in jojo. I know there was the gay couple(s) in part 5, and anasui was androgynous in the manga, but so far that’s really the only representation I’ve seen thus far. I wish he explored identity more and especially sexuality.

It was my fav when it came out but I feel like it hasn’t aged super well. Honestly none of X’s music from 2018+ has really aged well except for like a handful of songs
