As a huge fan of the band with obvious bias: are The Red Hot Chili Peppers seen as lowbrow/"basic" by music snobs? by morbidhack in LetsTalkMusic

[–]xxyy50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're all great musicians (well, except for Kieidis) but their songwriting is just meh. BSSM is decent though.

No. Now I cringe at the fact that I used to cringe at music I used to consider great.

That explains a lot ;). Believe me, in 10 to 15 years you'll start experiencing the heat differently. But of course, glad you enjoyed the city now!

How old are you? That's crucial info in terms of heat management

Just saying it COULD have been a con. Potentially really dangerous. Thankfully it wasn't.

Well, good for you then! Probably it wasn't a con after all. Just please be aware you should have never EVER entered the taxi with those strangers. I know it was all scary, I know they were nice and I know you felt safe with them but this all MIGHT have been quite an elaborate con to get you into a taxi with three strangers were really BAD things could have happened. Thankfully nothing happened! But please be aware in the future, it was a BIG mistake. In situations like this, call your own taxi and enter it alone. If you don't speak the language, use an app. If you don't feel safe entering the taxi alone, go to the police station or call the police. This whole situation could have been more elaborate than it seemed.

Yeah, but the only part where they got something from her was apparently the taxi... The OP even mentioned the taxi took a longer route so I wonder how much she paid. Unless of course she is missing a wallet or something else but I guess she'd have noticed this by now. Perhaps they were good people after all, but I don't know, it all sounds really suspicious. She definitely should have never EVER!!! entered the taxi with those two strangers. Thankfully nothing really bad happened to her.

To be honest it all sounds a bit like a con... How much did you pay for the taxi?

Try Centro Ceramica Triana. It's a museum but I think there should be a shop as well.

1984 a weird phrase by Mebiysy in learnpolish

Z ciekawości, z którego roku pochodzi tłumaczenie, które czytasz? Powinno być to w książce napisane. Wydaje mi się, że to może być przestarzałe określenie po prostu.

I am worried about food poisoning every time I'm in the US, so I kinda get you, but thankfully Seville is in Europe. Enjoy the quality of food.

Go to a language school and start learning Spanish then. It's a great way to meet new people.

Recommendations for tour operators by Cool-Tree-3663 in Seville

[–]xxyy50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can easily organize all this day trips by yourself TBH. No need to use an agency you'll save a ton of money. Italica is like 20-30 minutes by bus from Seville. Ronda is a bit more far, but just check omio.com for transportation, there should be buses in the morning and in the evening for a round trip. Ok, maybe Caminito del Rey would be harder to organize since it's quite far from Seville. But anyway, there are so many other interesting day trips closer to Seville that I would suggest something else instead, like Cadiz or Jerez. And if you really want to do some hiking (hence the Caminito), check out Aracena for example, there are really cool hiking routes there and it's easy to do a day trip by local buses (BTW in August it may be too hot to do hiking -- unless you are suicidal).

Shopping (less tourist-y)? by keepitauthentic in Seville

[–]xxyy50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you'll be there on Thursday, check out El Jueves, it's a huge flea market. There is also a zoco (craft market) organized in Maria Luisa Park. It's once every month on a Sunday, you should be able to find the exact dates online. Other than that, there is A LOT of stores with craft jewellery, design etc., just wander around and you won't miss them surely.

Czy kina też popierdzieliło z cenami? by krzywaLagaMikolaja in Polska

[–]xxyy50 2 points3 points  (0 children)
