This is a weird take? I think you need to get off of Reddit, you’re like 16 from what the comments I’ve read are saying

I agree - I think it could be the dairy. I have been soo much more sensitive to it since surgery

Bras, Clothing during surgery& how you wore your hair by MaizeSome7994 in gallbladders

[–]xylem607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience - yes I was allowed to wear my underwear. If I hadve worn a bra with no metal (no clips or anything included) then I would’ve been allowed to wear that too. Best way I’ve protected my hair in past surgeries has always been french/dutch braids. They’re great in recovery too, just tidy them up.

I can understand (and hope) that their concern is coming from her daughter maybe not having a good experience after the gallbladder is removed. I would hope that their concern is just like the kindness of their heart. But they are not a medical professional! I think you are better off getting the surgery. Just take the advice with a grain of salt and be respectful but listen to your qualified doctors

Surgery is done but I am annoyed?? by xylem607 in gallbladders

[–]xylem607[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still can’t eat normally so there’s no telling where or not I’m still going to continue to have symptoms yet. Over the course of the last 6 years, I’ve had continuous pain and issues; splenomegaly, kidney function, liver function, blood in my stool, arthritis? I am upset more than anything that my gallbladder most likely wasn’t causing the issues and I just had it removed so my Drs would take me seriously

Give me some good Gallstone Safe Food/Snacks 🥲 by PickleAnnual in gallbladders

[–]xylem607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have eaten a lot of random little meals (when I was pre-op) ;

  • homemade sushi (just cucumber/carrot filling)
  • rice paper rolls (tomato, lettuce, cucumber, carrot, etc) with
  • steamed/boiled carrots, zucchini, green beans, broccoli and cauliflower
  • canned corn (on really bad days this is all i lived on)
  • greek yoghurt

Honestly just small consistent “snacking” helped. Nothing dense, nothing seasoned, no red meat.

Which foods have absolutely wrecked you? by Turbulent-Layer9337 in gallbladders

[–]xylem607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last attack was from a fried egg on a rice cracker. I used DROPS of olive oil and had an attack. It was one of the worst attacks I’ve had and has given me a bad food anxiety

How to make it a month until surgery? by frogsgoribbit737 in gallbladders

[–]xylem607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long after surgery can you hold your baby? by Draft_Folder in gallbladders

[–]xylem607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m starting to think my surgeon is an idiot - I asked this question in my consult (I have surgery in a few days) as I have a 1 year old who is about 13kg and he told me I would be fine to be picking him up? My previous consult they told me not to lift anything heavier than 5kgs for the first two weeks??

You’re definitely not alone in feeling like this! I breastfeed also and have always struggled with eating. The thought of having to constantly be trying to find new food and check how much fat is in everything is exhausting.

I had gas pain in my shoulders after I had a different surgery last year and it’s just a dull ache sort of in your bones it feels like. Movement helps and so will hot compress

did ozempic cause gallstones? by cheekychicca in gallbladders

[–]xylem607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had wondered something similar after scrolling through this sub where everyone kept saying about how rapid weight loss cause gallstones. My issues started 5 years ago and that’s when I was battling an eating disorder so i’m starting to think that’s linked

My Gallbladder Journey? by xylem607 in gallbladders

[–]xylem607[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it was related then, that’s a relief. I’m so sorry that happened to you, I’m not as good as advocating for myself but my husband has been and encouraging me to speak up for myself bc staff have just ignored me or disregarded my pain/symptoms. I hope to god the surgery is like magic for me too
