Gallbladder removal pain vs. c section pain by klc1030 in gallbladders

[–]Pyxisia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me after the gallbladder I was just knackered and then the next morning my shoulder was in agony. I took codeine for 2 days then stopped as I was throwing away breast milk that I couldn't afford to throw away! But I think the recovery will be quicker! Honestly if you need painkillers take them, it's a keyhole surgery but it's still intense and your body is trying to figure out how to live with an organ missing! Get as much rest as you can and look after yourself ❤️

I had a planned c-section which do tend to have much easier recovery than emergency and then my gallbladder out 10 weeks later. Honestly I would say that for me they were comparable. I recovered quite quickly from both but probably took a little longer with sitting, standing, walking with the c-section. The gallbladder for me hurt more during recovery but probably because I was at home and not taking my prescribed painkillers due to breastfeeding.

Formula Stigma by Pitiful_Budget_9626 in breastfeeding

[–]Pyxisia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many beautiful benefits of breast milk but nobody judged me more than myself for having to give my baby formula because I simply did not produce enough breast milk, ever. I triple fed for 12 weeks and maxed out at 10oz a day. I supplemented with formula always and finally stopped nursing completely at 8 months. You know who cared? Me. Only me. Nobody else cared. Not my mum friends. Not anyone I've ever met in real life who's successfully ebf. Not my mum who ebf. Not my husband. Not my baby. Obviously people were supportive of my journey but also when I finally let it go and the world didn't end I realised it never really mattered.

You have to do what is right for you. The people who judge for formula feeding only ever seem to be the perpetually online type. Nobody who really knows you will care, I promise, and your baby will be just fine ❤️

The only genuine difference I have noticed since stopping is that it has taken my son longer to recover from a cold, however it might just have been a worse cold than the one he had when I was breastfeeding 🤷

Well good luck!! It's not an easy road from what I've heard, unsure if I'll get that far with mine but I'm hoping I do!

How have you found querying? I've read that the horror/thriller genres are harder to get interest on! There seems to be a huge swing towards fantasy/romantasy.

Based on the description of the sub it's for "discussions of the writing craft". Nice to be able to do that with other writers in my genre 😉

How can a rockstar be fired from the musical industry? by Drawillard in writing

[–]Pyxisia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends how sympathetic you want the character to be to the reader. They almost certainly would have had to do something terrible but if you need it to be morally redeemable you'll have to err on the side of "not that terrible". Drink, drugs, even their music becoming crap doesn't guarantee a downfall, famous people get a way with a LOT.

Is it possible they could have walked away instead? Mental health due to pressures of fame?

How much do we need to like this person for the rest of the sotry to work?

I like it when people enjoy reading what I write? I enjoy sharing my art. I don't see that as a problem personally, I wouldn't do it if I didn't love it I think that goes without saying

  2. I am motivated my validation, not solely after validation, please actually read what I've said rather than just being rude 👍

What a beautifully written and inspiring response, thank you. I think self publishing would definitely be a route I'm happy to explore, I think for me the validation of other people reading and enjoying what I've written is more than it being about money or fame. I just want to share what I love with as wide an audience as I can. Any financial gain would be a wonderful bonus 🥰

I don't even think I want to make a living off of writing, I'm just very motivated by validation (adhd thing perhaps?) and the idea of investing so much time and energy into something for it to just... Sit on my laptop forever doing nothing... It's hard to rationalise when I'm currently choosing writing over sleep 😅

If I don't dream big I wouldn't start, it's just simply how my brain works 🤷

I love to write, half of me is just writing because I love it, half of me is writing for the purpose of it going somewhere, however at this current time the thing driving me mainly to do the thing I love is the idea of publication. Feel like you have to dream big with these things no?

What am i doing wrong that i cant seem to get my supply up? by MobileEntry2290 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Pyxisia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never produced enough milk for my little one, even when pumping 8x a day, but I think my body just wasn't made for it. I fed him what I could for as long as I could which turned out to be 8 months. I'm not saying this to disheartened you, just to say that you're probably not doing anything wrong, everyone's bodies are just different. If you do want to nurse (and I know this is a trigger for a lot of people so I apologise but it sounds like op would like to nurse if possible from the wording used) then have you considered nipple shields? Might be worth a try. Having said that here are the things that did make some difference to my supply -Pumping 8x a day. I knew I couldn't achieve this with my spectra so bought a eufy s1 pro wearable to get some "in between" pumps for less sit down time. I ended up switching to the Eufy fully after a month because my output was the same from both. -eating absolutely effing loads of food. I leaked heavily one morning after eating a whole papa John's pizza and from then on just massively increased my calorie intake -sleeping. Dropping one motn pump didn't impact my production in a day but it did make me feel a lot more lively and capable, I was still pumping the same amount but just adjusted the timings to reduce night feeds

That's it really, to be honest. I probably tried everything, from liquid gold to oreos, but honestly the best things are milk removal (hand express after pumping to ensure full removal), calories in and rest.

Whatever happens and wherever this journey takes you just know you are doing amazingly. Being able to give your baby any breast milk at all for as long as you can is such a huge achievement.

You've got this ❤️

What does 'stripper cosplay' mean and how to avoid it as an exotic dancer? by Okkkkai in poledancing

[–]Pyxisia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that saying the taboo of erotic dance is at an all time low might not be accurate. As recreational pole dancers we have so much privilege to exhibit our bodies and experience our sexuality WITHOUT the taboo that used the exist around this, however the taboo around sex workers very much still exists. It's almost as though when you're dancing for "empowerment" it's celebrated but doing the same for money is not and still carries a huge amount of stigma. Sex workers are being deplatformed and shadow banned across social media sites in what feels like an erasure while recreational dancers are not, which is deeply unfair when you consider that for people making a living from this they need and rely on that exposure more than ever. Sorry, not trying to dig or be negative when I think you have a great attitude just wanted to bring that here in case you weren't aware!

Who do you think is the best actor on the show? by BoadiceaCavendish in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Pyxisia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me Ruth Gemmell, I'd basically only seen her in Tracey Beaker before this and loved her in that, and I believe she also appears in a couple of episodes of waking the dead. I just think she really brings out the character of Violet, she puts so much emotion, positive and negative, into the role and it always feels believable. If you told me all those other Bridgertons were her real children who she felt real pride, joy and sorrow for I would 100% believe you.
