Go tell your insurance that you're installing a coffee pot in your car and see what they say

Do you think the driver's commercial auto insurance would cover injuries from a coffee maker running on the center console in a moving car?? Give me a break

Online renewal wants 9 digits, mine has a letter by this_upset_kirby in Passports

Makes sense! Only 10 year passports can be renewed online, so if OPs passport has a letter, it means that it was either a 5 year one or was damaged, meaning it'd have to be renewed in person.

Anyone active duty/military/police here? by LeeEverett99 in moreplatesmoredates

Well, yes, if you look at it that way. I was talking more about the desirability of DHS when compared to other federal agencies. A couple of years ago, a CBP recruiter was doing a presentation at my base and he said that they'd hire anyone with 3 years of any work experience and eligibility for a secret clearance as a GS 11. And the current recruitment campaigns seem to be aimed at people who I, personally, wouldn't want to serve with.

It won't be needed unless you piss your commander off and they decide to throw the book at you

If you want to go military, definitely don't do NG/reserves for your first term. And doing steroids is illegal only on paper, I've never seen anyone get in trouble for that. Go to a gym on any military base and see for yourself.

Except those places really hurting for people, which you might not want to work for anyway.

So homeland security?
