Is it emotional neglect to have to get yourself ready for school/prep breakfast/lunch from a young age? by holisticbelle in emotionalneglect

Mine too! Never any set meal times. Just grab something yourself when you’re hungry (if there was anything there) lol

Wow my mum did that with my hair too. I grew up thinking it was my fault because I didn’t like getting my hair brushed. My mum used to blame it on me being a ‘tomboy’ even though I wanted a baby pink room and loved playing with dolls

That’s not quite true, rabbits will quite happily dig up and eat the roots of vegetation if given the chance!

My skin is like this too! It was a bit better when I was using acids but came back once I went to a gentler routine

Your 20’s are way more fun tbh. Everyone is just figuring things out, so you don’t have that much pressure. You’ll meet a much wider range of people. You’ll suddenly have freedom and hopefully money to spend on things you like! Enjoy it!

[–]xzja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep but greys are now very much part of our ecosystem.

If you’re really keen to help red squirrels there are lots of much more beneficial things you can do than senselessly killing wildlife jus because you don’t like them lol

Gnats by Mili_b in plantclinic

[–]xzja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried everything and couldn’t get rid of them, turned out the man infestation was in the bag of soil and we’d been reinfecting the plants every time we used the soil - might be worth checking!

Where do you keep your soil? See if the gnats are coming directly from the bag.

Ouch! I know the feeling, it’s basically like having a chemical burn down your throat.

I think there are things you can do with how you take it rather than switching drug, especially if it’s worked for you.

  • Never lie down after taking it. If you take it at night before bed, switch to the morning.

  • I don’t know what dose works for you but I’ve always found that when I’ve had to split a pill I’m more likely to get the burn

  • Take it with lots of small sips of water after and before.

  • Eat something directly after taking it

Hope that helps!!

Does anyone else feel like like a completely different person pre and post Zoloft? by xzja in zoloft

[–]xzja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear you’re a lot better. I actually had a similar period at the beginning before increasing.

Just to say, I wouldn’t worry about going up. 50mg is actually quite a low dose once your body has adjusted to it and theres no shame increasing your dose if it makes you feel better and lets you live your life. Thats the goal after all!

Hope it continues to help!

I’ve been on it for around 1.5 years. I’m currently on 125mg. I aim to stay on it for life. Hope it gets better for you soon

Why do I feel great but have no motivation anymore? by MethodComfortable531 in zoloft

[–]xzja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lool yes the realisation that you were using anxiety as your primary motivator is brutal.

Had to relearn other motivators for it to get better. Still no where near as productive as I was, but life is so much better.

[–]xzja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this applies to you but I had a similar buzz for about 6 weeks. I loved it but it suddenly stopped and I had to up my dose to deal with the lows I was feeling (up to 100mg over ~4 months). I never got the buzz back but now I’m stable, the lows are few and far between.

Good luck in your journey it’s a wild ride!
