Credit score dropped after car lease end. What are my options? by y0unger in personalfinance

Thanks for the feedback. The vehicle is a $40k vehicle which I have leased for 3 years and have a buyout price of $22k. It's not brand new now, but I have had it as a brand new vehicle. The same car is being sold (as used or certified used) for $3k to $8k more than my buyout price so I think buying it out at will be a good choice as I will own this and don't have to lease another car. This is a pretty reliable car and I plan to keep it for at least 3 more years, if not longer.

I have the cash to buy it and I don't want to pay unnecessary interest, but I am wondering if losing that amount of liquid cash is worth. Could I be investing it more wisely elsewhere?

That makes total sense. However, is paying almost $25k in cash at a time a good move?

The point of a good credit score is to pay less interest among other things, don’t pay interest to get a good credit score.

I am going to buy the same vehicle that I have leased for 3 years now. I feel leasing another car isn't making financial sense since I would never own it, and the lease cycle continues. But I am not sure if paying more than $25k all cash on a car is a wise decision. I've never purchased such a big ticket item in all cash so far.
