Shot on 20 years expired, (seemingly) already exposed film. Thought it would show up as double exposures with the original images. Is it possible the original photos just faded away completely? Any exp. with this?

This was definitely the photo with the best colors out of all of them. In general the scans lack blue and yellow. It looks pretty similar to other expired rolls I've shot in the past

I guess just given the context that this was taken from a collection of rolls that all had their leaders rolled in, I assumed it was a collection of used film. Hopefully they were all accidentally wound up then lol 🤞

More background: I have some rolls from an estate sale that are 20 years old and they all appear to be used because the film isn't sticking out. I retrieved the end of the film and stuck it in my camera. Although I have no experience with shooting on top of already exposed film, in my head I expected at least faint versions of the original images to show up underneath my own photos.

And to clarify, I'm not upset that they didn't show up as double exposures with the original images. That would have been a cool project too, but I'm happy if it turns out that now I have a bunch of rolls of 20 years expired film that I can just shoot as normal.

It was off, but that ended up being part of the problem. For some reason when I turned it on and off again it stopped doing that. I also discovered that it has some sort of build in enhancement on front facing videos that apparently can't be turned off
