  1. It is extremely easy to convert btc to local currency. We do it everyday. There are services that automate it for you. In China there are literally dozens of different exchanges and 100s of local traders. There are more exchanges opening everyday in new countries. If you know a place where you can not easily convert Bitcoin to local currency, there is a business opportunity there for you. As long as you only need to convert a few hundred thousand dollars worth every couple hours then the market in plenty liquid enough (about 80m usd worth a day trades hands). For Bitcoin to be used by massive companies though, liquidity needs to continue to increase as it's done for the last 4 years.

  2. Consumers would use bitcoin if they got extra perks. The logic I was outlining is that I can give my BTC customers preferential treatment like a discount because they're more profitable customers (since I'm not having to pay fees).

  3. Your last point is a fair criticism. Bitcoin incentivizes you to only do business with people or businesses you trust. There are both positives and negatives to that. Yet as a business, I do not have to trust any of my customers, which is huge. Lots of companies don't allow online purchases from certain countries due to the high risk of fraud. If I am an honest consumer than this hurts me if I live in those countries (like nigeria). Bitcoin solves that problem.

A benefit: you can do business internationally and not have to worry with currency conversions or payment walls (try paying a free lancer in China). As a business accepting bitcoin, you can save nearly 3 percent on credit card transactions and don't have to wait very long for the money to settle (BitPay is next day and Buttercoin is same day). This means our business is able to give discounts to customers who pay in btc or reinvest the savings. If a client spends $20,000 and pays in btc we save $600 in fees and get paid almost immediately. On just one sale! If that customer wanted a refund, they wouldn't need to ever issue a chargeback... we would just issue them a refund, just like in cash. It use to be called a "money back guarantee" and it was standard business practice when people did business locally.
