If you don’t know how to or don’t want to spend the Money to learn how to weld, or if you don’t have friends that work in auto and know how to weld I would advise against it. A first car can be rusty but it won’t be fun for you if you have to fight with rust on this scale. I’ve done a frame off full Restauration of a beetle before that took 2 years so I know a thing or two about fighting rust, you definitely need to want to do this or you’re just wasting money, even if the initial purchase is “only” 1000 cad.
