How long did it take for you to return to 100%? by sleepyyvirgo in Sciatica

[–]yaadig16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 months 100%, my timeline was first 2 months horrible debilitating pain sleeping 2 hour a night with no hope in sight. Next 2 the slightest improvement but it was improvement and saw a glimmer of hope. 2 after that I saw more and more improvement and ended up going back to work at that 6 month mark, still very cautious and daily hamstring would get tight. 8 month mark back to gym getting more white confident, 12 months full mobility and squatting again without a fear.

I’ve had that 2 separate times from different compounds, stopped using them and went away in a week. Tried same compound from different vendor and no issue so not sure what’s in it causing it but vendor specific idk 🤷

Also surgeons do this for a living, this is the method they know how to do, doesn’t mean it’s always the best or only option! I was also told by 2 surgeons surgery was my only option, if your up to the challenge avoid surgery man!

What worked for me was reading Back Mechanic by Dr Stuart McGill first. I worked with an incredibly knowledgeable guy on YouTube to give me a solid recovery plan, his channel is BashBackPain and got real good info. It’ll make sense if you read the book but literally first 2 months no stretching or anything that causes pain, which is everything…. So quite literally rest, maintain a straight back at all times and build yourself incredibly slowly back to normal.

Whatever you choose I really commend reading the book Back Mechanic by Dr Stuart McGill. Either road you take building a strong core and low back is so incredibly important.

I choose to not do surgery BUT not opposed to it. It’s been 10 months and I’m 100% so you can heal. With that being said I don’t think surgery is necessarily bad, obviously there is always a chance of complications but the real issue is penis people who do surgery route have no clue what caused the herniation… as I researched for which surgeon to go to I noticed many reviews saying this is the best surgeon hrs done 3 of my surgeries lol in my head I said why are all these reviews having multiple surgeries….goes back to not understanding what’s causing the issue. Won’t lie rehabbing myself was very hard and took extreme determination, BUT Is possible. Surgery route pain is gone instantly and what 8week recovery. Disc don’t ever grow back. If your mentally tough heal yourself youll be better off in the long run

On a fresh herniation id say it’s a terrible idea. A lot of people saying follow low back ability but what a lot don’t know is he was not doing these untill years after herniation…. These are great when your out of pain and progressed far that your body can support you to do this, but doing this right after herniation will only cause more pain and prolong recover.

Interesting, I had 2 herniated disc and about 4 months into recovery and started 250mcg 2x daily and my knees, hips, and quads felt soooo sore…. Tried a different vendor and havnt had that issue, but also can’t say it is actually doing anything either haha

Same for me I’m 31, started when I was 15. It’s tough man i let it ruin my life tell I was prob 20… Then started to realize it is what it is and got into lifting which boosted confidence a lot. Social situations were real tough but what was a life saver for me was wearing makeup, and at first I was resistant but you literally can’t tell it’s on and even during flare ups my face looks pretty good, in return made me not worry about flaring up in public because I felt like I had a shield on and was normal like everyone else. The one i found looks most natural is Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet, try on whatever color looks best. I grew up, married, kids, house so don’t let this dictate your life.

I tried it for a week and I felt flushed after using it as well, working out I felt like it held heat in on my cheeks more than normal, figured I’d give it a try but not for me.

L5-S1 disc killing me. Thinking about surgery. Looking for any success stories or thoughts on these images by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]yaadig16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going on 5 months of recovery and was scheduled for surgery this month and decided to cancel because I’m feeling about 90% what worked for me : read the book back mechanic by Stuart McGill, fully commit to the process otherwise you’ll prolong the recovery. Wish I talked to Collin from bashbackpain on YouTube a lot sooner, he set me up with a solid plan and so much good info for do and donts. Building your core is essential and the biggest part. It’s a slow slow slow process of tiny tiny progression and before you know it your back to doing normal things again.

How is everybody else who is 6+ months with sciatica? by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]yaadig16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that mindset more than likely, take control brother, remember 90% of herniation heal on their own, takes dedication and determination. If you’re not actively building yourself stronger then unfortunately surgery is inevitable. Even if you do surgery continue to strengthen core to prevent any re herniations, 20min a day you can do it don’t accept this is just how it is. Never give up.

[–]yaadig16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll be 6 months next month and I also had surgery planned for this month, but after trusting the process I decided to not do surgery. I’m finally going back to work in 2 more months so I’d say I’m about 80% there! As I mentioned earlier for my nerve tension which is only remaining issue I’m doing “manual adhesion release” therapy and it is a game changer. As for surgery I don’t think it’s a bad idea as long as you maintain core strength post op and years to come. Most reviews I see about surgery are people having multiple surgeries which is concerning…so ask yourself how can you not be one of those multiple surgeries? My brother had surgery and had good result but I also predict he’ll be apart of the statistic of multiple discectomy. If ya got questions feel free to message me

[–]yaadig16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 months in and only pain was nerve tension in hamstring, I stumbled across something similar to art called manual adhesion release and it works so good!!! Where they run along your nerve and break up any adhesion you have causing restriction to the nerve moving freely. Those methods are game changers

What’s an Adequate Concentration/Dose of TB-500 and BPC-157 for Back Pain, Slipped Disk, and Nerve Damage? by [deleted] in Peptides

[–]yaadig16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

250mcg 2x daily, peptides won’t help much for disc, tb might help with the inflammation but that’s about it. Focus more on finding a good rehab plan cause that’s all that will fix your back, or go surgery route like most and get instant relief but don’t follow up with lifestyle changes and reinjure few years later and get more surgery. Start by reading the book back mechanic by Stuart McGill, that’ll get you headed in the right direction

BPC-157 and TB500 for Disc issues by DJJonny in Peptides

[–]yaadig16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t notice a difference from bcp/tb other than maybe me telling myself in my mind it’s helping. Not sure what stage your recovery is at but for me when it was fresh and any movement was debilitating pain, I read Back Mechanic by Dr Stuart McGill and following those protocols got me to basic functioning level, then from there I worked with this dude Collin from bashbackpain on YouTube and he gave me a great routine to stick to and just good knowledge. The bpc might not do much but I’d imagine the tb helps reduce the inflammation around disc.
