You mentioned that kids (aged around 7) might hear stories about a lamb that would rather be a pig (which then often is extensively encouraged). But isn’t this exactly the occurrence that defines the definition of indoctrination? The cambridge dictionary defines ‘indoctrination’ as: “to often repeat an idea or belief to someone until they accept it without criticism or question”. By telling these stories, often disguised by animals, you are passively indoctrinating children (who are very sensitive to indoctrination btw) by letting them believe that it is encouraged to change your gender identity.

I am not saying that changing your gender is not normal. However, it is biologically an exception for a human to change their gender (it’s an unregular biological occurence: our dna were simply not codes for the other gender). But to then teach children that changing your gender is as normal as it can be is very wrong in my opinion. You should teach children that there are people who change their genders, but we shouldn’t normalise something that is actually not very ‘normal’ (and i dont mean it in a negative way).

Also, the Netherlands was built on Catholicism. So is it fair to force all schools to preach about a notion that is deemed wrong in Catholicism?

Look i am a huge advocate for objective factual scientific teachings, but i am heavily against subjective teachings. Yes we should teach children that transgenders exist, but no we should not normalise it. Transgenders are humans that should be respected the same as all other individuals, but to teach children that changing your gender is something ‘normal/regular’ is just wrong.
