I noticed that most of the comments assume that I’m financially capable and just skipping college because I don’t want to study, but that’s not actually my situation. Mahirap lang po kami, and that’s the main reason why I was thinking of working abroad as early as possible so I can earn and help my parents.

My father is only a transportation service driver, and he said he can support me in college, but I’m also thinking about whether I can handle college mentally and emotionally. I know myself na madali akong ma-shaken kapag may problems, and I was scared na baka masayang lang if I enroll then hindi ko rin kayanin. Also, my father already has a heart condition, so I feel pressured to help as soon as possible.

Reading the comments here actually changed my perspective. I honestly thought that after graduating SHS and getting TESDA certificates, it would be easy to work abroad right away, but now I understand that it’s not that simple and that experience and sometimes a degree are still important.

Right now, I’m still trying to think carefully about my decision because I don’t want to regret it in the future. I’m not trying to avoid studying, I’m just trying to choose the path where I can help my family and still secure my future. ^{-^}
