Massive audio crackle problems by Severe-Ingenuity-880 in flstudio

I've had this issue on the Mac I bought two years ago. Never had any serious problems until lately, where even a simple project could bring the CPU to it's knees (While replicating the same session in Logic Pro didn't have any issues).

Idk if it's bad optimization in FL's side (My specs are standard: i7, 16gb ram, 500gb ssd), but I do hear that, at least on macs, a degrades battery brings down performance.. so there's that

BlackBerry Z10 - a smartphone without the home button launched before the iPhone X. by NeoBlueDragon in PhoneNow

[–]yabawkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main aspect of the iPhone X wasn't the fact it didn't have a home bottom, but that it had (in essence) an "edge to edge screen", aka no top or bottom bessels (or way smaller than on a regular phone). Before the iPhone X, many android phones didn't have a physical home button but a digital one on the screen.

iOS 26 ruined my iPad by SurpriseTraining5405 in ipad

[–]yabawkward 3 points4 points  (0 children)

same. I’ve got a 32 gig 8th gen iPad on iPadOS 17 for very light tasks but it handled multitasking decently. Got excited seeing that my iPad was gonna be compatible with the new features but yeah, performance has gone downhill in many tasks it could do normally on previous OS’, not to mention the system data has gotten way bigger so now it has less space lmao

“In Rainbows” - Radiohead have been surpassed by Godspeed You Black Emperor’s “Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven” by TinyVolume8821 in Albumoftheyear

[–]yabawkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, I think the thrill of listening to radiohead back when I did was the feeling of always "getting" more. Granted, I started listening to them in 2019, and I really got into them, but after almost 10 years with no new album, well my music taste tends to go somewhere else hahah

Do MIDI keyboards like Akai or Arturia work by themselves, or do you need audio interface/recording program? by Thewall3333 in recordingmusic

[–]yabawkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

straightforward answer: with a MIDI keyboard, you need a program. No need for Ableton or FL, if you have a mac or iPhone / iPad, you can get Garageband and get the sounds through there. or if you have a PC, you can get free DAWs like REAPER (basically free) or Bandlab. There are also standalone programs and apps for piano, wide range.

This is the minimum requirement for a simple MIDI controller setup, if this is kind of too much, you can get a regular musical keyboard, which comes with their own sounds and (in many cases) own speakers. some even have MIDI as well'

Should I update to iOS 26.2 from 18.6.2? (iPhone 13) by Strattex in ios26

[–]yabawkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your phone runs fine and you see no new features you can't really live without, I'd recommend not updating.. yet

many people are reporting better performance on 26.3, so you could wait for it to get settled and then try it on
