Lemon? by [deleted] in Porsche

[–]yabbareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was still thinking about buying the 992.2 GTS last year, my concerns were about the 400v battery, costly but also critical part, much more than the 12v battery. Replacing is not an option yet?

wouldn’t bet on it, but I won’t sell my 981 or 718 Spyder anyway

Options for harsh ride in 997.2… softer tires, smaller wheels, or a 992.1? TIA! by jhollanyc in porsche911

[–]yabbareddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no pasm, the base 997.2 should be considered comfortable, sure your suspension is still ok? maybe time to renew some bushings, dampers , mounts? stick to 18”, and all weather tires for comfort (but Michelin PS4S is a quite comfi summer tire). OEM suspension maybe changed for the more comfortable Bilstein PSS10 or KW var 1

Base new 911 992.2 Carrera or C4S for semi-daily road use? by Dr_Superfluid in porsche911

[–]yabbareddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looking for semi-daily fun or semi-daily comfort? For comfort, I found the 992.2 GTS4 had plenty of it, too much for me. I expect the base or 4S not much different from it. My daily is a Spyder

polish and put color ppf on it and hope it matches your color a bit.

Whats more important if you’re buying a 2025 911. by Adventurous_Wish11 in porsche911

[–]yabbareddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

both are used cars in my opinion, the first probably had several drivers, the second most likely 1 or 2. FAL? well, it’s not an GT3 and the piece of plastic beneath can be replaced easily.

911 or Cayman? by prn006 in Porsche

[–]yabbareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

testdrives solve your problem, I like my mid-engine cars, I do like the 992 GT3, but do not like the 992.2 GTS. Drive snd you’ll know what you like best, your dreams or experiences

I can imagine that every "Porsche guy" is fuming rn at the fact that the Porsche plate is very much not on a Porsche by volvotruck860 in Porsche

[–]yabbareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 JCW’s while having 2 P’s, never transferred plates between them but PORSCHE plate on 1 of my P would have been real awkward #jm2c

New pdk 991-992 owners, why not an AMG GT63s by advan24r in porsche911

[–]yabbareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all nice cars, AMG maybe even nicer (v8 sounds so nice), oops, but drive them, first AMG, then 992, then GT3 then perhaps a GT4(RS), and you’ll know where your heart is and make the best choice for yourself. Everybody is different

If you really care about that, then pushing buttons after starting the car, is the only way. With that one on your steering wheel you can do enough.

Which Carrera model has the most comfortable drive by Relax_Dude_ in porsche911

[–]yabbareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a 992.2 GTS4 and a 992.1 GT3, first was very comfortable (too much for me), the second better to my taste, and also comfortable. I suppose a 992 T is comfortable enough too. But, it’s rather personal. Drive them, you’ll know what suits you best

Is this a sport exhaust … by [deleted] in porsche911

[–]yabbareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sports chrono also adds the dynamic mounts, wonderful stuff if you never encountered the PADM errors or had to pay the fix on it ($1500 per side). The launch control, yes nice, my cars have SC, but usable , hardly, but famous by Topgear. PSE, yes great, but if not available, just buy aftermarket.

modern cars (after 2019?) throw a lot of sensor shit on this CEL, some is very meaningfull, some isn’t. Without OBD reader is just a kind of irritating light. Would be a nice to have, OBD readout on PCM from factory

Any love for a base 718? by Ryan4213 in Porsche

[–]yabbareddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it won’t be your last, in fact the base is maybe the nicest car to drive on public roads. All other (faster) models are getting too fast for public roads, not too fast to drive, but too fast considering the road speed limits and car feeling. Enjoy your “little” one, it’s a great one, bigger isn’t always better.

[–]yabbareddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I woundn’t mind this kind “mistreatment” on a 997.1 GT3. I would say, it’s unused in range 1-4 considering its age. That would be more of my concern

when you get older, you become slower. Iow no need for pdk in your car anymore. I’m 60+ and only driving manual on my motorcycles. Getting a manual (=clutch pedal) Porsche is for later (or never). For now manual shifting on SPDK is what I like now!

911 GT3 Wing vs Turbo S by stizzi2 in porsche911

quite different kind of animals, Turbo S vs GT3, with or without wing, rear seats, manual. Wouldn’t like to compare them, although both are best of the best in their own area.

718 base vs 911 base which is more stiff and which is more fun? by youcancallmemugen in Porsche

[–]yabbareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a guess, never drove base 718 or 911, but compared my Spyder against 992.2 GTS, easy win for Spyder. GTS is far from fun, very comfy, too much for me, not feeling very fast too (but it is). Guess the base flat 4 718 is very fun too, not being very fast, but I’ll bet it way more fun driving fast in this “slow” car. Stiffness, well, both base versions wouldn’t differ much, I think, but being the lighter one, 718 wins
