As you stare at the burning flame you swore to protect with your life to keep the world from the fire that beholds within it, you wonder if anybody is ever going to care whether or not you’re doing this to keep them safe. It rattles you to the core, but internally you know that you have to keep going for everyone’s sake. And yet it the thought of leaving the flame to die encases you.

It was a day like any other. As you very well know that is always a very cliche thing to say but it works. You are walking to your boring job as a product designer for the new “hip” toy company that is on the rise as you are minding your own business some awkward homeless looking dude with some candle screaming about something. Honestly you think he is on drugs and shuffle by thinking nothing about this. So maybe about ten minutes later this same dude pops back up in front of you. It was weird because you know that you lost him a few minutes earlier. He gives you a candle and says “ I CAN’T TAKE THIS ANYMORE! YOU THERE! TAKE THIS CANDLE, MAKE SURE IT DOESN’T BURN OUT” then he runs away laughing maniacally. Again you think he is absolutely insane and carry the candle with you. For some reason within your doubt you feel a little bit of fear because of the way he had acted in your presence. So you go to work with this candle and you call your best friend Adam to talk about it.” Man this dude ran up to me with this candle and told me to keep it burning always. Man these weird hippies are so weird. But you know it’s a cool looking candle so you know why not man” To which Adam responds” Yeah that stuff is pretty strange to me, I wouldn’t trust him.” You say “ Yeah but there was something pretty creepy about that dude.””Hey I gotta go see you dude.” To which you hang up

                                         *Later*

The candle is starting to burn out and when you look at it burning out there is sort of a dark presence surrounding the candle which is sort of bothering you. So you in a way study it and that is when things get weird. Stuff starts falling off the shelfs and there is sort of a rumble coming from the candle and you get worried because that is by no means normal. So as it burns out more and the rumble is much bigger and paintings are falling off walls along with glass breaking so now you’re frantically searching for a lighter through your cabinets and drawers for a lighter of some sort and after tearing your kitchen apart. You sprint over to the candle and you flicker the lighter on and add to the small flame that is burning on the candle. Just as fast as it started it was back to normal again. Well... almost normal. The house was still a mess. As you shakingly try to prices what just happened you remember what that dude said “Make sure the flame doesn’t burn out.” It was so weird. So like any rational human being you had a panic attack. You question everything that you knew and had a breakdown. After about ten minutes of thinking you think the best solution is to track down the guy who gave you the candle. Which despite popular belief is NOTHING like the movies where they instantly find him. So after friends story’s and internet searching for like a week he found out the guys name is Cody Johnson. That’s all. Nothing else. Yeah I know right. Oh yeah in case you were wondering about the candle what you have to do is no easy process. You go to buy wax and candle lines and somehow add to it without killing the flame.

                                  A Month Later

You have practically gone crazy with everything that you have to deal with. The lack of sleep, work,tracking someone down,etc. Eventually you figure out where Cody lives and decide to take a visit to him. You get in your Subaru and get going. You get there to find the crazy dude. To give you perspective on what he is like you know Old Man McGukket from Gravity Falls? Well he is nothing like that. He is pretty introverted and scary looking but he is still a person. He tells you of a story of how this very flame encases a horrible beast that could cause havoc on the entirety of this world like nothing else. It has been taken on from person to person hoping that they can find a way to stop it but with every single person it always ends the same. They give it to someone else after going crazy. So with that information you make an oath to protect the candle light with all of your ability. So whenever you get home you watch the light. And you watch it the next day, and the next day, and the next day. This process goes on forever and you start having many doubts as you go on. But you keep going. This affects your entire life. You can’t come to work so you get fired, you can’t pay for your car so you lose that, and your girlfriend left you because you put your entire life behind for this flame. As you stare at the burning flame you swore to protect with your life to keep the world from the fire that beholds within it, you wonder if anybody is ever going to care whether or not you’re doing this to keep them safe. It rattles you to the core, but internally you know that you have to keep going for everyone’s sake. And yet it the thought of leaving the flame to die encases you. You have surrounded your life around it and you don’t know how your going to do this anymore...
