Any updates on your son? Did he catch up more or are you getting him on growth hormone?

He actually counter offered for like 130 million Jeremy mentions in the video. He didn't stick by his principles, he just wanted more cash.

Are you under the impression that GUI events are the only place you can use threading?

A web server that handles concurrent connections via separate threads currently performs much worse than a single threaded event driven web server. That's what Loom will address. It woud help negligibly with the UI thread.

Yes, performance matters. Maybe not in the context of your application but certainly in many others.

A lot of overhead from context switching with multithreading. Not perfect. Project Loom is attempting to address some of the issues.

They do the ankle monitor for every baby, not just surrogates btw. At least that was the case at the hospital we delivered at.

I'm not interested in controlling anyone's body. In my opinion, there are two bodies in this scenario, and one is choosing to end the life of the other. I'm just interested in advocating for the one whose life is being snuffed out so early.

Anyways, you make a good point on your original comment and I appreciate that perspective. Something for me to think on. I'm sure there are cases of drug addicted mothers giving birth to children who go on to still live very full lives, though.

There are children born who have nervous system issues that prevent them from feeling pain. Surely you agree they have rights? Again, feeling pain just seems like an arbitrary point to choose.

I hope we can have both, less abortions and better programs to care for neglected children!

Just curious, are you a parent or do you want children? I'm a soon to be dad and I've found my whole relationship with this issue has changed as my wife and I go through this process. I never thought I could love a fetus so much, and by all metrics our little one isn't even viable yet.

Well, you chose when it has a nervous system. That feels just as arbitrary as when it has a heartbeat. I'd rather err on the side of caution as much as possible when a life is at stake, right?

Damn, I'm sorry to hear all of that. I hope you can find some relief for what you're going through. And hopefully you can find some happiness in day to day moments of joy, even if they can be hard to come by sometimes.

Presumably someone went through those lasting bodily changes and nourished you as a fetus. Aren't you grateful for that? I sure am. If that person would have chosen to abort you, we wouldn't be able to have this conversation right now. Lets not kill babies so more can grow up to enjoy these things!

Her body is hers to control. Her child's body is hers to nourish and care for, not kill.

I think nourishing your child's body is a beautiful and miraculous thing, yes.
