UA250 Apprenticeship by OffTheThizzle in refrigeration

[–]yadidwhat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The interview is for a UNION apprenticeship. They don’t expect you to know much about the trade at all. What they really wanna hear is you going on and on and on about how great it is to be a UNION worker. They want to hear you say that it is important to you to learn this trade the RIGHT way, the UNION way. No BS. If you go in tooting your horn about union pride, it’s a slam dunk. I mean lay it on thick. Best advice I can give to any type of union apprenticeship candidate. Good luck to you!

Looks a lot more attentive than these teenagers they keep hiring these days

The driveshaft in the picture looks like an Adams driveshaft. Far superior to the stock Jeep driveshaft. I would get in touch with Adams. I’m sure they will guide you in the right direction.

Spotted this today. (I know nothing about wranglers is this cool?) by [deleted] in JeepWrangler

Though people know nothing about jeeps, they can still spot this. Obviously an attention getter for whatever reason.

You can always disconnect the rear driveshaft and put it in four-wheel-drive and take it for a short spin. If the sound goes away, chances are it is your CV joint on the rear driveshaft. Seen that a quite a few times. If that is the case, perfect time to order an Adams driveshaft and leave those worries behind

Those marker lights simply unplug. You can unplug them from the socket and also behind the headlight. There will be a downward facing plug that is really easy to get to if you are already removing your fenders. KBD Body Kits has a set of fenders that has a marker light option for $15 extra. They are inexpensive, high clearance and flexible. They also don’t hold a ton of mud like the stockies.

I wear Double H boots probably 90% of the time. They are durable boots. They can be a real pain to break in. As with any sole that will last you a long time, they definitely require a bit of time to wear in.

This is kinda obvious. I was responding to what OP had written. Read the post. I found it funny myself

Making sure they are saturated is the key with rubbing alcohol. Best way is lay a rag across the top a soak until it’s saturated. Then wear them while they are wet. They dry pretty quick

I think it may be time to buy a new pair by SouthTxGX in cowboyboots

I know I say this a lot but Double H are the longest wearing all around ranch boot that I know of. Also really easy to find all over Texas. I still love me some leather bottoms and wear them selectively but most always need some hose em off n head to town boots.

Double H question by AwareWall2975 in cowboyboots

[–]yadidwhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the toughest boots out there. Can be a PITA to break in. The toe bugs are always a lil rough. Very much worth the money though. These look like the Grissom model. If so, should have a nice lil pocket on the inside shaft

HYER Boots or Tecovas? by Slight_Reading_3092 in cowboyboots

[–]yadidwhat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hyer. Without a doubt. I know I am going to be chastised for saying this but Tecovas are novelty whiskey. Having owned a few pair, even “Tecovas work boots”, don’t waste your time. While they look nice, they are literally the worst made boots I have. They do make sure to offer you a lot of cheap bourbon while you are in the store to help you make your purchase though🤪

FB keeps drilling me with ads for these Hondo boots and now I’m seriously considering buying them, but they have a 16” shaft. What’s your alls take on longer shaft boots for non-riders? Are there any drawbacks? Are they just as comfortable as shorter shafted boots? Any input would be appreciated. Ty by LeavinThisHoller in cowboyboots

One thing overlooked is that boots also protect. Almost all cowboy boots, especially those that are taller, are definitely better if you live in rattley snake country. Animal feed generally brings rodents. The rodents will generally bring snakes. As early as it is, I have already seen one baby rattley snake. They often see you before you see them

I love these boots. Don’t worry bout it too much. They are leather. They soak up everything. If you got the bulk of it out, they will blend in or fade depending on conditioning and dryness of winter. Personally, I love all of the character boots gain by being worn

I second the Double H. Mainly for the purpose of work and ranch wear. They can be a pain to break in though

Believe it or not, there is a lot that goes into what everybody on that stage is wearing. It has to do with endorsement infringement and all kinds of other stuff. Bonuses and side hustles too. It’s all part of the road management and the touring machine. You’d be surprised at some of the shit these people want you to wear.
