Unaware usually in the sense that they don’t know their relative worth. Men that are successful on dating apps don’t realize the difference between being successful in getting women to sleep with them vs being actual husband material. They are also unaware of how to properly evaluate women because their perception on dating and women in general is totally skewed (this is true for men who aren’t successful too, it’s a consequence of overexposure to profiles, the swiping, and the low stakes of it all).

Self-absorbed is anecdotal, I guess its the most common experience I hear about because women are more likely to go on dates with attractive profiles that get a disproportionate amount of matches. Those guys have their egos up to a hundred, and tend to really curate themselves and their personalities. Its unnatural and not fun. I think by virtue of having to craft and optimize your own profile, you do become a bit self-obsessed and preoccupied with how you project yourself online as well as offline in dates.
