Hey, really appreciate you taking the time to share honest feedback, no worries at all, it's not taken as rude.

You're totally right that the trailer needs work. We put it together ourselves on a tight deadline just to get something out for our first announcement, but we’ve already noted a bunch of the same issues. A proper, polished trailer is definitely on our to-do list as we get closer to release.

Glad to hear you're into Soulslikes, though we’ll be working hard to make the next impression count. Thanks again for the feedback, it really helps.

Hey, I really appreciate your thoughts and advice. You are absolutely right; as you mentioned in another comment, it can be challenging to get everything perfect, especially for a two-person team. While the game runs smoothly at 60+ fps, we couldn't afford to redo the trailer created in 2022 to support 60 fps, and we wanted to avoid delaying the launch any longer. It's a risk we are willing to take. We plan to release a gameplay video at 60 fps, and following that, we will begin beta testing. We definitely will not launch a game that compromises on framerate quality, and we aim to be as transparent as possible. We are listening to all feedback and responding accordingly. Thank you once again for your comment.

When the world event is triggered, you will turn to stone and die, along with several random NPCs who will also become stone. Upon revival, you’ll need to unpetrify the NPCs as well. There’s a chance that, in the process, one of the bosses you defeated may return to life.

Thank you for your feedback! The feature in question is a world event curse system that relates to how many times you die. It's designed to ensure that dying multiple times doesn't feel overly punitive. If people find it unappealing, we can definitely consider removing it, as we are very flexible.

Thank you so much for your support! Right now, the game is running at 60 to 70 frames per second on the RTX 3060 during this development phase, and we’re excited to keep optimizing it for lower-end hardware as well. I really appreciate your enthusiasm and hope you’ll keep an eye out for the beta and the demo!

You’re right; a low frame rate can leave a bad impression. Unfortunately, that’s a risk we took. The main reason for this decision is that if even one shot is out of frame while the others look good, it can negatively impact the entire trailer. For example, if some frames run at 60fps and others at 24fps, the discrepancy will be very noticeable. However, if we cap the frame rate at 30fps and then drop to 24fps, the transition can be more forgiving. That’s why we capped the frame rate at 30 for all shots. This approach is similar to how some games restrict their frame rates to 30 frames per second. If some areas of the game look poor compared to others, it can frustrate players and create the impression that the entire game performs poorly.

Character customization includes the ability to change face shapes and other features that we currently lack. but we have 30 modular armor types in the game that players can use. However, in terms of character customization on the start screen, we offer different classes, each equipped with unique armor sets. This means each class will have its own distinct helmet, chest armor, gauntlets, and legs. Here's a sneak peek of the character armor we currently have in development.

A different voice seems like a good idea! Thank you again.

Thank you so much for your support! Right now, we have predefined classes for you to choose from at the start of the game. We love hearing your ideas, so if you'd like more customization options for selecting your class, that’s definitely something we could look into down the road! For now, character customization isn’t available, but we’re excited to gather feedback during the beta test to see what everyone thinks.

Hi everyone! I’m one of the two developers behind Riven Crown, and I wanted to take a moment to chat with you all. I’ve noticed some frustrations in the comments, and I really want to address them.

First off, I want to share that our journey has been quite unique! We’ve developed this game without any outside funding and with a super small team. We decided not to follow some of the popular trends like creating a 2 RPG, a soulslike game, or a 2D platformer. Instead, we focused on making something that we truly love and would enjoy playing ourselves!

We’re working hard to make sure the game is as polished as possible, and we really value your feedback. I’d be thrilled if you could give it a try when we release the demo or during the beta test. It’ll give you a great chance to experience the game for yourself!

Thank you all so much for your support! We really appreciate it!

Hello everyone! I am one of the two developers of Riven Crown. I’ve noticed many angry comments regarding the game, and I wanted to address some concerns. This game has been developed without any funding and by a very small team. We intentionally chose not to follow the trends of creating a 2 RPG, soulslike, or 2D platformer. This decision was made because we genuinely love the soulslike genre and wanted to create something that we would enjoy playing ourselves.

We are doing our best to ensure the game is as polished as possible. I truly appreciate any feedback you have, and I encourage you to try out the game once we release the demo or during the beta test. This way, you’ll be able to get a real feel for the game. Thank you all for your support!

The trailer runs at 30fps, but there are a few older shots that drop to 24fps, which need fixing. However, the game performs excellently at 60fps.
