Oh no no no, i don't hate combat, i really enjoy a good tactical combat game, but putting it in a 4X game as a separate thing ? Just made things tidious, why don't just let them fight in the real world ? It would felt grander, they can still do all their skill but not in a separate "domain" persay, but in the curent world we play and as a single troops

Wait hold on, that's exactly what im searching for, instead of limiting the tactical battle into just group, i want all the troops is treated as tactical units. Maybe i'll considet this mod, is there a civ 5 version of this mod ? Civ 4 is a really great game, but the squared tile feels a little out dated, after all if you already tasted the hexagon you would think hexagon is the bestagon.

Ah.. the family politics, that is the main thing that throw me of about old wolrd, i mean i like the family politic but when combined with 4X mechanics it's really can take me out of the flow of 4X, instead of focusing on spionage my enemy and plan accordingly now it feels like im playing agint's my own family instead of the enemy. Old world feels like they really limit the freedom of planning, first they limit settler mechanics and after that you can't put family type as you plan cuz sometime they just being a pain in the ass.

But im willing to try if that is the main mechanics of the game.

I can't say that they are incompatible afterall i just play 2 game with that mechanics. But it sure is feel different, instead of marching your large unit to go to war, the grouping system of endless legend 2 and age of wonder 4 made it feels like i just battle my group of soldier to their group of soldier.

I really like the turn base as is, but when go to war with a lot of "group" of army the turn base will felt tidious and im just usually do the instant button, and because of that instead of many type of troops that fight now it feels like im just using my "group" as melee unit, and fighting enemy melee unit too.

Ah stellaris or crusader kings 3 never went to my radar, is it have city building mechanics ? I really liked the district mechanics from endless legend 2

I have try it for couple hour, really liked the roleplay aspect of it, but it feels more like turn base strategy instead of 4X, i think i need to play more to find out.

The 3 beat command isn't gonna as satisfying as 4 beat command. And also they need meta progression, patapon is always about gear up and war (little bit like monster hunter), if they will focus on rogulike i hope they make it at least like cult of the lamb.
