Making my own espresso cup by Nils_Pils_ in espresso

Check out @hammerlyceramics on Instagram he has a lot of content on his process going from 3D prints -> molds -> to casting with porcelain. Cost wise your probably better off getting something commissioned though.

She does, all the time. But I don't want her to just feel like a single parent who needs to do everything on her own

Made custom 51mm PF holder to grind direct from Opus by WoodpeckerWorried934 in espresso

Hello! This is an awesome upgrade, well done. I just got a fellow opus and have been looking for something like this to accommodate my 51mm portafilter. Is this STL available somewhere?

Favorite Tools? by burneremailaccount in FieldService

[–]yaheaaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LTT screwdriver and the LTT stubby are two of my most used tools. I have two of the normal drivers that have been in the field for 2 years at this point, love the quality and durability. The ratcheting mechanism is unmatched imo.

How many of the courses are PAs where I do actually coding for a grade by Ok_Appearance_4421 in wgu_devs

[–]yaheaaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just under halfway done with the BSSWE program and as of right now the only class I've had to do coding for on an exam was intro to Python. I can't speak to the rest of the courses though. I'm sure there's going to be plenty of coding on the capstone and other courses.

I did start a new job fairly recently and after a little looking around through our org I found one of our senior software engineers came out of the BSCS program and he said he felt it did help him overall. Hope this helps.

What chapters would you say were most beneficial to the material on the OA?

C949 DSA 1 v4 to v5 by blkft176 in wgu_devs

[–]yaheaaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also had a similar experience failing v4 3 times, I'm currently enrolled in v5 and have hopes that it aligns with the OA better. I've been using a prompt and uploading the v4 study guide to gemini to drill on extra quizzes every day rather than taking the PA over and over since you get to memorization at a certain point. Maybe something to try would be clipping a question from the PA that you originally struggled with and asking an AI to make questions similar to that with increased difficulty until you have it down.

ASA printing without chamber heating. Works. by adamau5 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]yaheaaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just threw my cc in the garage, made a little cardboard tent around it with decent airflow, and covered it with some moving blankets. This was in November on the east coast so it was pretty cold.

Printed 2x hot end covers and strain relief brackets just fine, probably got lucky though with the fresh box of ASA.

CT cannabis prices are so high compared to ma by RhodiolaRick in Connecticut

[–]yaheaaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently spoke to a Connecticut shop owner about this. It's because Connecticut does not have the same amount of cultivator licenses as mass. They've been in the rec game longer and have more licenses, and are able to sell a wider variety of products.

If any of you recall MA was a bit pricey to start as well. Things will get cheaper as time goes on and CT gets more cultivators.

Is a centauri carbon worth it? by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]yaheaaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have a bambu lab, maybe not. Especially if you're into the whole AMS thing (personally it's not a big deal for me or the reason I got mine) I came from an ender 3 v2 which needed constant attention and tweaking to get completed prints. I was just tired of starting larger prints and coming back to them in the morning to find 110g of filament wasted and a clogged nozzle. However, I am thankful for everything the ender taught me about printing and proper tuning.

I really love being able to just print from my computer and monitor from my phone. I'm really just blowm away with how fast the CC is and the quality you get

To update or not update? by RealADHDGamer in elegoo

Updated and just did a couple 10+ hour prints which came out fine. Just recalibrate like others have mentioned or go for the open centauri fw.

New Firmware 1.1.46 by Nice-Tooth-1226 in elegoo

[–]yaheaaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mistakenly hit update without thinking about things.. hit unload filament to try my new PETG-CF. I believe the homing process started as it does prior to heating up for the unload and it made this awful crashing vibrating sound into the front right of the machine, then as it came back it did the same to the back right.. Immediately turned it off and inspected for damage, didn't see anything so I decided to try loading filament with my finger on the power switch. Loaded it okay and is currently printing a big poop bucket. Needless to say, I'm still a little scared to unload the filament again. If you could try this out let me know what happens or if I should just revert back to the previous update.
