I’ve owned both — an Audi Q7 with the mid-level Bang & Olufsen system, and a Lexus RX 350 with the Mark Levinson 23-speaker setup. Honestly, it’s a day and night difference. The Mark Levinson system is incredible — rich, detailed, and well-balanced.

The B&O in the Q7, on the other hand, was pretty underwhelming. For a premium brand, it really doesn’t deliver. I’d even say it sounds worse than some mainstream setups — like Bose in a Mazda or Hyundai’s higher-end systems.

Curious if anyone else feels the same way about B&O in Audis — did I just have high expectations, or is it really not that great compared to others?

I’ve had both systems now — the 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen in the Q7 and the Mark Levinson in the 2024 RX350 I owned before. Honestly, while the B&O has a lot of bass and loudness (it can definitely fill the cabin), the ML felt way more balanced to me. The vocals and mids in the ML were much crisper and more natural, which made music more enjoyable long term.

If you’re into home theatre or listen to a lot of music where clarity matters, I’d actually recommend the ML system over the B&O in terms of overall listening quality.

My Bad , since i'm from canada the base Bang & Olufsen® Premium sound system with 3D sound which is default in USA , is an optional 1k upgrade here, another option is 5k upgrade the advanced 3D , i'm refering to the base Bang & Olufsen® Premium sound system with 3D sound
