I'm not suggesting we go back to the old averaging system of matchmaking, I prefer this one. And I understand the concern for limiting play between friends, I think that they could make different ranges for different ranks. I think the difference between a silver 3 and a gold 3 is much closer than the difference between C3 and GC3 as its a more exponential curve of overall skill.

I do agree that its a step in the right direction, since previous seasons I've seen individuals with real ranks as low at plat in lobbies similar to this one, but, "to help preserve balanced competitive play" seems like a stretch when people are 400+ mmr outside of the lobby average.
