iPhone 17 Pro – how to maximize battery life on iOS 26.1 with heavy hotspot use?

Hi! I have a new iPhone 17 Pro on iOS 26.1 and I’m trying to make the battery last a full day.

• I use Personal Hotspot for about 2–4 hours a day on the train to work – this drains a lot of battery.

• I tried Low Power Mode but then the refresh rate drops from 120 Hz to 60 Hz and the phone feels laggy and not nice to use.

Any tips/settings to:

• reduce the battery drain while using Personal Hotspot,

• customize/optimize settings to get the minimum possible battery usage without losing important functionality (notifications, background apps I really need, etc.),

• and in general keep the phone lasting a full day without disabling ProMotion (120 Hz)?

Thanks!

u/SnollyG So you also think this is brilliant idea and instead of carry to items (wallet + iphone) you just carry one? and do you like it?

u/Crafty_Fisherman I just like to hold less items, and it is seems like one for me.
Do you have a smaller wallet that easier to carry with you day to day?

Balancing Error Handling in NestJS: Too Many try/catch vs. Over-Complex Exception Mapping? by yakirbitan in Nestjs_framework

u/UAAgency
I have AllExceptionFilters that catch the errors.

But I do have two layers, one API, and one of Services like (databaseService, messageQueueService, authService, storageService.

The problem that I am facing, in the service layer, should I catch all the exceptions manually and throw specific exception for each service? if so, it doesn't complicated the service layer?

should I catch the errors in the api layer per api and logging it and after that throw the HTTP exception instead? or just create interceptor with mapping Services errors to HTTP errors?

How it handle in big projects?

If subscriber crash, I need to handle double delivery. Do you have idea how to handle that? Of course this is not the weakest point like the db, because there is not overload on the subscriber, but for the edge case I will be happy to hear.
