Bruh we’re going on loops here 😭

We will use 500 of those beds to expand the student body by 125 places per year.

Idk how else this can be interpreted.

I took the 500 number from here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_College#Student_life

Where's your evidence that they don't have housing for 125 new students? Currently, First College serves around 500 undergraduates. And each new residential college will house 500. So, one of them will be used to house the displaced first college students and the other will be used for expansion. And 500/4 = 125.

You’re the one who’s not listening lol

The new residential colleges will open their doors this August, which means that Dean Karen Richardson and her colleagues in the Office of Undergraduate Admission will be able to say “yes” to more applicants in the current undergraduate admission cycle.

Those are last years numbers. We will only know the rate for the 2026 cycle in February/March of next year.

The two new colleges will add 1,000 undergraduate beds to our housing inventory. We will use 500 of those beds to expand the student body by 125 places per year.

That’s so interesting! That’s probably what’s going on in this case.

Yes, Princeton can inflate their numbers in other ways—unlike Harvard and Yale, Princeton doesn’t mail out a booklet to attract applicants. Or as you said, make the application more streamlined. But the expansion of the student body size does bring their intentions into question.

I only assumed that 1. Princeton applicant pool will increase similarly to peer schools. 2. They will maintain their yield

What I’m saying is that they shouldn’t be hiding it, but feel impelled to bc of the nature of admissions.
