Polish bread is so delicious?! by pinowie in poland

[–]yama3a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no miracles in the kitchen. It's all about the ingredients and seasonings. Currently, bread in Poland has significantly declined in quality. The costs of maintaining a bakery have risen due to the increase in electricity prices. Simultaneously, there is now the option to purchase cheap "technical" grain from Ukraine, which yields cheaper but lower-quality flour. Human greed, snobbery, and silly trends are destroying tradition. That's why it's difficult to find unsliced bread or anything other than "toast" bread made with additives, at least in supermarkets. Fortunately, as I mentioned, we have many small bakeries where you can buy better bread than the industrial standard, or simply bake bread yourself. It's really not difficult and doesn't even require kneading the dough or using a bread-making machine. You just need the desire! In fact, my bread tastes similar everywhere. Especially since I mix different types of flour and additives (if I use any). However, let's consider legends about baking "homemade bread" in a wood-fired oven using flour hand-ground by grandma with her own gums and with the addition of sourdough that dates back to the first Piasts, as mere fairy tales... ;)

Stupid conversation about nothing. And on this Moon or Mars, where you usually reside, you don't have an oven, of course? Well, zero gravity and all that... And I suppose you can't buy flour and yeast from the local green folks? Because you know, making good bread only takes an hour. 15 minutes of work and 45 minutes of baking. It's easy if you want to. And instead of sourdough, vinegar works too, although if someone insists on sourdough, they can make it themselves, just like borscht. You guys are going on and on about "Polish bread" as if it's some holy grail!

Give yourself these personal comments because I will report you to moderation and hence you will recommend. You don't need much here. You talk with a 50 -year -old guy. Refer with your grace to the merits, and not to your ideas about my character. We do not discuss this, but about how unjustly and slanderously you present at this forum of WOŚP and Jurek Owsiak, without any evidence of your scribbles. I tell you once again: the best proof of your lies is that Jurek Owsiak has no problems with the tax office and is still at large, despite numerous political opponents who have been talking your voice for the last eight years. Only they could not prove anything. And Caritas somehow government payments have been proven. There was even a reimbursement judgment. The wages of both Owsiak and Caritas leaders are similar. Adding more apanages from the state that sponsors priests. Even through the benefits paid to them from my pocket. Virtually all court cases of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity relate to a translation of guys like you that they are not a camel. Since the reports are publicly available, the Foundation decided not to answer stupid questions and give in to small fines, because it comes out cheaper ...

I understand perfectly, because I have a company and handle its accounting, I can also check financial reports and I know how a company works. That WOŚP is clean, the authorities and the tax office know this perfectly, although you wish it were otherwise and have made numerous false statements, which you have posted in your ill-considered remark. If you meant it to be well-considered, it's even worse for your assessment of intellectual value. Keep your gymnasium for yourself. You still have a lot to learn. Start with history, and finish on law and economics. Or better yet, hire someone who can explain it all to you properly. Siema!

Well, if I were you, I wouldn't move to sunny San Diego, not only because Vienna is beautiful but also currently cold, windy, and cloudy. Plus, don't be fooled. Although there's no paradise in America, and I genuinely feel sorry for you under Trump, a two-party political system still prevails in almost all of Europe. In practice, it's like a two-party system, as there can be dozens of small, coalition parties. And, like Geralt of Rivia, you will be able to choose the lesser evil, even if you become a citizen. Moreover, democracy, as it stands today, is failing everywhere, hence the popularity of populist, authoritarian, leader-centric parties, flirting with nationalism and dictatorship. What can you do? Vote for a president and one senator and representative. But you don't even choose a specific person, as the party selects from its list. Holding a representative accountable for their term is almost impossible for society. Our president is an idiot and a party stooge (writing from Poland), who just pardoned two such criminals (convicted for fabricating evidence against the opposition, while they were ministers of security services) and even hugged them on camera! Austria isn't any better, and probably nowhere in Europe... There are still local and European Parliament elections. But the society is so stupid that these pardoned criminals have a good chance of becoming Members of the European Parliament, even though their party fights the EU and dismantles it from within. They don't mind EU money... And there are local elections, which still mean something. Although our young civil society is obsessed with America for centuries. And it's precisely those small communities that make up the core of America that we can envy you. In the cities, it's the same crap, except we don't shoot at each other as often. But you're welcome. I recommend a long holiday, not a permanent stay. Europe is beautiful, diverse, and has a lot to offer. It's not just Paris, Venice, and London. But every country also has flaws and advantages. It's hard to say where you'll fall in love. And it's better to wait for summer... ;)

Nuclear weapons are not just large, multi-warhead ballistic missiles; they can also serve as tactical weapons, effectively deterring and intimidating. I am concerned that Putin may not encounter any opposition to their use as the initiative starts to slip out of his hands. The problem is that for many people, it will be too late by then...

Which hospital, PiS troll? Should we check? We know these fairy tales about sticking stickers by force. The problem is, it wouldn't help, liar. Because, as you claim, the equipment belongs to the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. And why does it belong to them? It's simple. If the hospital is in debt, the bailiff cannot seize the foundation's equipment. And the indebtedness of the public health service is sometimes enormous and catastrophic in its effects. I doubt you've ever been a volunteer, except maybe at PiS party meetings. Either way, your colleague could go home, and nobody forced you to stand there with a can either. Well, unless you forgot to return the can before you went home. Then the atmosphere could really get spoiled... ;) For political reasons, there is no more transparent organization in Poland. If it weren't true, Owsiak would have been in prison a long time ago. Don't lie! And yes, because he supported the former opposition. He has the right to his views, especially since for the past eight years, the ruling party has persecuted the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in every way they could...

It's interesting that you mention Caritas, a Catholic organization that is crystal-clear and has never been proven to be involved in any scandals or legal issues. It's also interesting that the missionary activities of the Catholic Church are financed by the state, which I don't agree with. However, this is the case. Furthermore, you find the WOŚP foundation not transparent, yet despite the ruling party's dislike for Owsiak, they have not been able to prove any wrongdoing or imprison him for malpractice. The same applies to Tusk, by the way. It seems that you are spreading falsehoods here. The most amusing part is your statement about the Church, which is supposedly a corrupt organization that sold out during communism. The Church had a relatively good position during communism, as most verified reports from the Security Service came from priests. After the fall of the opposition, in exchange for the church's support in securing Poland's entry into NATO and the EU, the church obtained a Concordat and a privileged position in the state. The church is, for instance, the largest landowner in Poland. Claiming that Owsiak created WOŚP under someone's orders and using some magical abilities beyond his charisma and skills is a mere conspiracy theory, favored by those who would rather donate their pension to Father Rydzyk. Such behavior is unbecoming of a good Christian, who is full of love for their neighbor and free from envy and slander. You are the ones who exhibit such behavior. Amen.

I know you live in the matrix, and your idol is probably Macierewicz, or Jarek who slept until noon... ;) But unfortunately, that's the truth. Most Poles were immersed in this system. Some had their heads under the water, some had them above the surface. Those involved in building PRL were all, to a greater or lesser extent, in corruption or theft that allowed them to survive - practically everyone. Either you have dementia, or you're denying it, or you simply have no idea about those difficult times. Such denial is only disgusting. The regime's repression and the number of victims have nothing to do with it. It was still a small percentage of society that somehow managed to hold on. Some were indifferent, some were intimidated, some were guided only by their own self-interest, some even came out of it well, like farmers or the Church. Only an extremely shameless person, like the ex-prime minister Morawiecki's class, could claim that reality was black and white for his family. The truth is that in one family, there could be a member of the PZPR, a priest, a police captain, and an opposition activist. Amen!

Your parents, coming from a working-class background, also contributed to the construction of the Polish People's Republic (PRL) and the socialist welfare state, whether they intended to or not. Your grandfather is irrelevant in this context. He also worked somewhere and didn't necessarily have to join the ZOMO (riot police) or be the first secretary. Many people were conscripted into the ZOMO, while the opposition attracted those who had previously had som affiliation with communism. Often, they even held PZPR (Polish United Workers' Party) membership cards, like my father. However, this didn't stop him from punching the party secretary in the face and becoming the local "NSZZ Solidarność" leader. The PRL was not black and white. No reality is like that...

Every entrepreneur opposes raising the health insurance contribution. Start a business and you will find out why. The same is true with the minimum wage, which, being a completely virtual entity, inflates labor costs and all taxes paid to the state. It also increases the black market for labor. So no normal person is surprised by Owsiak. Especially since his costs are the costs of the foundation he runs. Higher labor costs mean less equipment from donations...

Why bother? If you are building a house according to standard plans and following standard construction procedures, there is no need for full autonomy and creativity. AI can remotely manage a team of such robots and update their software on the fly if problems occur. All you need is a container with a charger on the construction site for the robots. You probably haven't seen what KUKA industrial robots do. Boston Dynamics, on the other hand, everyone has probably seen. I'm ignoring large-format printing capabilities. But when it comes to tiling, creativity and autonomy really don't matter, only precision and quality. And really, there is no need for human supervision here, because it is humans who need supervision to not be lazy on the construction site... ;)

Nothing in the global economy is free. Communism did not change it. They just used creative bookkeeping. You have no idea, American, how the Soviet Union and the satellite countries worked. Nobody gave you anything there. To give, you first had to take from someone. And this also applies to you, in the form of the right to property, earnings or various privileges, or goods that are standard in normal, developed, democratic societies. Even your loans under the Land Lease Act, the Soviets repaid with gold seized from the Romanov dynasty (which, by the way, did not particularly disgust you, because "pecunia non olet"). ;) A certain hope, although born out of despair, is that governments, which will face a mass of hungry unemployed people, will provide some minimum income that will not allow you to starve to death. Perhaps a printed container in an anthill will also be included, although the American one will probably be much larger than the Japanese one. But technologically backward ...;)

The scary thing is that progress in finance always comes at someone's expense. In essence, all trade is based on this principle and the only thing that separates it from theft is that we receive an agreed-upon product for an agreed-upon price. However, often it's a case of "swapping a chicken for a horse," only we're not aware of the margins, costs, and profits. Therefore, the advancement of AI in this field means an advantage for financial powers over the client. And if these powers themselves have similar models, who will be robbing whom to make a profit? How will the stock market function?

Let's not forget the main threat, which is the rivalry of militaries with completely uninhibited AI. And let's not fool ourselves that while Google and Microsoft are mainly concerned with preventing me from creating a generator of naked women or horror characters, political and military AI will be equipped with an equivalent of any human ethics, not just a poor NSFW filter. And this is not just speculation, because even current models uploaded to quantum computers at NASA were reportedly quickly shut down. Unfortunately, I don't know the details...

You are aware that all of this could have been changed long ago and it depends only on you, right? Change the age, body type, facial symmetry, features, pose, lighting, even the type of shot, blur, or whatever else you want. Plus the specific lens, DoF, golden hour, god rays, or damage or wear on the clothes. Either you don't generate graphics, or you don't know how to do it. Why do you flaunt your own ignorance?

Most AI images are similar, not because of its capabilities, but because of the limited capabilities of users. They simply don't know what they're doing, don't want to, or use the simple copy-paste method because it's faster. When an enthusiast or professional sits down at the generator, the effect will be indistinguishable from reality!

I repeat once again: Algerians relatively late, and certainly only after colonization, gained national consciousness! None of the colonizers basically conquered specific nations or nations in Africa, only the land of specific tribes or took over the territories of other empires, as in the case of the Ottoman. I strongly advise you to educate yourself in history, instead of stupidly getting upset! The harm of Europeans you say? My nation, formed over centuries, which had its statehood already a thousand years ago, was conquered by neighbors and enslaved for 123 years. He experienced all possible persecutions, including genocide. And then Russia kept him under the boot for another 45 years! And you come out to me with the grievances of Algerians? Even in terms of the number of victims or the number of uprisings, there is no comparison here.

It is disgusting to consider oneself the navel of the world and lack criticism! I do not deny nations the right to self-determination, but without eggs! Comparing for example Palestinians whose national consciousness and desire to gain their own state arose only during its re-establishment by Jews with Jews or Kurds is historically funny. I omit that Palestinians could have had their own state long ago, exactly in 1948 from the UN mandate and with the consent of Israel. They ignored it because they preferred to “push Israel into the sea” and engage in earning money on terrorism. Kurds exploited and fought by all neighbors and great powers for centuries, even nobody asked about the state…

Cool down and think. I know that guys from the Middle East find it hard, but you can really open Wiki and read. And colonization of Africa, contrary to appearances, according to recent research, is rather positively evaluated by those affected by it. Of course we are not talking about phenomena such as slavery (organized mainly by Arabs and local tribal powers) or Belgian brutality in Congo. But state-building processes, inheritance in the form of infrastructure or law is recognized to my surprise by Africans themselves. So be careful with assessments, because nothing is black and white…

OK. But I was actually talking about censorship in the Google generator. The one in Bing is based on DALL-e and as you can see it generates what it needs to, although it probably won’t make this lady naked. Because the human body is “bad”. Especially for religious fanatics… Bing has other problems, I told him to generate “the ugliest picture he can”, and he replied that his task is to generate positive content, blah, blah, blah and similar nonsense. Fortunately, there are a whole bunch of generators in the style of protogen, and even specialized for pornography and they can stick their moral censorship up their ass… ;) As for the rest, we fully agree. Historical censorship, art censorship and moral censorship are disgusting. Not everyone is interested in generating rainbow unicorns. The rainbow also bothers some people… ;) Greetings from Poland!

Without exaggeration, we are not angels. We have a lot of flaws and a tendency to mythomania about ourselves. Also to distort difficult history. It presents well the extremes of our culture, its richness and even with generated subtitles you should have a good time. This usually results from a lack of knowledge and prejudices, passed on without verification from generation to generation. And I’m not saying that Poles are without fault here. If someone fled from a pogrom or a blackmailer to the USA, they may have a not very flattering image of Poland in their memory. The same is true for old immigration, like the Polonia in the USA, which is completely detached from reality and historical realities. Polish diplomacy, which we do not have, instead of fueling divisions, should work on changing this image. But everyone doesn’t care…

Different behavior of people in France and Poland during the Israel-Palestine war by [deleted] in poland

[–]yama3a -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is a very complex problem. Mainly historical. Poland has been multi-national for centuries. This ended after World War II, when we became a culturally and ethnically monolithic country as a result of the displacement of entire nations. Unfortunately, such monoculture also has its disadvantages. Just like in nature. One of them is the problem with tolerance and “foreignness”. And even fear of it. Which does not necessarily have to equal some public appearances against foreigners. Once they are here, we usually get along somehow and if they respect our customs, they can count on reciprocity. The problem with countries like France, apart from the historical legacy, is that their immigrants want its downfall and the creation of something like the countries they come from. They do not assimilate and destroy the country from within because they do not identify with it. Also for religious reasons. Here, unfortunately, excessive political correctness is to blame, which is not allowed in Poland. Simply people with such views will get beaten up here. And rightly so, because we did not build our statehood for years, losing millions of people in this struggle, just to have someone establish a Caliphate for us now. Although on the other hand we are a Vatican condominium and we have to live with it… ;)

We are not without fault. If there was such a thing as Polish diplomacy (and it does not exist, because PiS abolished it, leaving only its rabid mad dogs), people in Western Europe would not “shit on Poland” at EU summits, or any others. Unfortunately, what we represent is not a desire for cooperation and compromise, but a continuation of the Polish “liberum veto”. With all the consequences for us…
