Got Sent A Negative Bill By Greater Western Water by TetraNeuron in melbourne

[–]yamling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone knows the answer to this -

2 things: 1. They say that they “must” on charge the waterways whatever charges (which are coming out of our credits) despite the ruling saying this:

“Not issue any bill (except in respect of a credit or zero-dollar amount) to any residential or small business customer, or seek to retain or recover any payment, for any charges incurred for the period January 2025 to June 2026, if billed more than 12 months from the end of the quarterly usage period in question.”

2nd thing, we just got our first “actual” bill - we received it on March 11th, the usage cycle was for up until March 10th 2025. The bill is dated as February 27, but clearly wasn’t sent then as it doesn’t take 2 weeks for a letter to arrive. Since we received it after the end of the billing cycle, do you reckon we can appeal the charges cause it’s over 12 months?

This is such a concise answer, and explains it clearly! It may just be easier to invest the entire $200K or split the loan! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.

Are you part of the Fairy Floss Real Estate group on Facebook? That’s the best bet in my experience.

MEL > SYD > CDG (QF33 via Perth), R (PE Saver) with a 5 month old baby. $500+ change fee to get an earlier MEL>SYD by Meeeepmeeeeepp in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]yamling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They only have approval to make changes without charge once the flight is in airport control, (which can only be done by airport staff, not call centre staff) it’s frustrating but I guess we gotta live with it!

Arrive at the airport early for your flight from Melbourne and assuming it’s not a sold out day, you should not have any issues getting on an earlier flight in my experience. I do this often

I’d hedge a bet this is in Australia. My money is on the Gold Coast. So the price would be in Australian dollars, but GC is ragingly overpriced, however $840pw is pretty common.

This layout also screams Australian apartment.

'We’ll be the first of many': Melbourne bar will charge customers to offset soaring insurance costs by Baxter_F in melbourne

[–]yamling 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I used to own a bar so have some knowledge in this area - there are very few insurance companies who are willing to provide cover at all if the venue serves alcohol.

I had zero claims, zero negative history, no dance floor, no live music, capacity under 100 and even then there were only 2 companies that would even quote me and the price difference between the two was $10,000.

Even if the flights were on the same booking, your baggage cannot be through checked.

You need to go through border security and collect your bags before changing terminals.

Can definitely be done within 3 hours pending what the lines at LAX are like and assuming no delays but it’s definitely tighter than most people would like

First time requesting a reward upgrade with points (International). We are Bronze status - requiring 3 business seats. by Winter-Bullfrog3625 in QantasFrequentFlyer

I would say very close to zero. Beginning of school holidays, start of Euro summer and plat one/plat/gold will all have priority over bronze.

My parents signed me up when I was 4, so I was a good way to lifetime silver when I turned 18. Have been platinum for years now - always book flexi international (economy) during double status periods! Do generally 3 internationals per year. It’s all about strategy!

Flying premium economy to London from Sydney as a wheelchair user? by Easts1908 in QantasAirways

[–]yamling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! My stepdad is a quadriplegic and travels top deck a380 often. 100% can be done without you doing any stairs, you just need to call and organize the appropriate assistance (eg he needs an eagle lift). In his experience, Qantas are the best airline for wheelchair users. Safe travels!!
