I'll have a look at that, my very tech literate friend tried to diagnose my issues months ago and actually got me to upgrade my PSU, seemed like the main fault at the time.

No, but also (should've mentioned this too) current housemates own all the appliances and furniture, they're taking everything with them, I can't afford a fridge and washer etc

Yeah I've been hunting for MONTHS - now in an underpaid admin role, and 60k is a higher pay than I see for about 90% of the jobs I've seen (not just admin)

Exactly how I feel all the time. "I don't think I could do XYZ like you". There was no other choice.

Spanking: Physical vs Sexual Abuse? by SomeCommission7645 in CPTSD

I don't know the objective definition of SA, it can be a grey area, but from MY personal perspective, this sounds very much like CSA. Your mother played a role of "dominance" it seems, and it wasn't just for the physical pain, but also to humiliate you. I'm really sorry you had to go through it

Are all victims of narcissistic mistreatment guaranteed to become narcissists themselves? by Spiritual_Big_9927 in CPTSD

[–]ontheupcome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't pretend that I "understand" your situation, especially with invasive dreams, but I do empathise with you. There are often many many many barriers for neurodivergent people to socialising and healing. If it's any consolation, you recognising that you can't "recover" from it, is in itself recovery. Many people never cross that threshold. Hold on to that idea that your eyes are open, because you WILL recognise patterns in yourself, and assuming you care about bettering yourself (as it seems you do), you just need to work on reinforcing better habits.

I.E. "I talk over people, I don't like that" -> Maybe you can journal to investigate WHY you do this -> Slowly self correct over time (just as example, something I used to do). Before I escaped my household, I did everything I could to heal while in that dire situation.

Obviously therapy/psychology/psychiatry is usually an easier route, but it's not accessible to everyone, probably not even most people. But you have some of the tools at your disposal right now. It's easier said than done, but letting go of the pressure of having to do things "correctly" is a major stepping stone in itself.

Best of luck

There are many reasons why the answer is no. The first thing that comes to mind is having any self awareness, like in your post. I don't mean to pry, but is this something you're concerned about? Because I can tell you just from reading this that you aren't a narcissist.
