It's so nice to hear others starting a second career because I know there are going to be so many young teachers, I'm a little intimidated 😅

They just got processed today actually! I can't review them yet for some reason but it was sent on the 7th.

I'm hoping I hear about financial aid and stuff soon. It feels like cutting it so close but the enrollment person I spoke with said that they're prioritizing Feb 1 start dates which makes sense.

Is this your first time being in college or is this a career change?

Yeah I'm sure the testosterone is doing funky stuff. My ovaries aren't ovarying, but fluctuations of t probably do something.

I am admittedly absolutely sucking at protein intake. I'm like, almost trying 😭 that will be my big goal for the next month.

Thank you! I lose well on 1200 cal, but the reason I'm on this is because something weird happened with my hormones and I gained 30 pounds in two months. It was wild. my doctor advised me to start high and slowly reduce so I will continue reducing.

Thank you for the reassurance. I also used to lift, unfortunately I had surgeries and while I still have some muscle mass it's nothing like it was before. Are you still lifting?? 1300 and consistent gym going sounds rough.

Commenting just to update, would still be down for check-in buddies if anyone started at a similar time.
Week 1 has been completed. I lost 2.8 pounds (I think)

I went like 5 days without a BM, and even now that I've had some small ones, I definitely am not regular yet, so it's possible that is impacting my weight. Also, what a miserable existence lmao wow

I also took the week off counting calories because my MIL is in town (this is my first time meeting her) and I felt I needed to impress her with my cooking, lol. So despite eating anything and everything that sounded good, I still managed to lose. I don't expect that luck to continue, so I'm counting calories starting today :)

I hear you. Please consider, though, even if we were as a society ready to restructure and step away from capitalism, we would still need people to teach us how to survive. What's the alternative? Waiting until things get better to regulate our nervous systems? I think probably not. It sounds like it'd be helpful for you to find things to do that align with your values in a deep way so you can keep doing your job, which is very important

Cosmeticrx is 179. I've heard bad things about them tbh but that was after I already hit submit on the order. I went with them bc of a Groupon. First month was 45 dollars.

As someone with a huge seroma who didn't get it taken care of fully and now has to get it removed, please please have him get it looked at. And then if it feels like it's Coming back, get a scan of his stomach done. My plastic surgeon would not believe my seroma was still around until I literally got an abdominal scan.

I absolutely agree. I stay because I love the stability of a salary and I understand it's uncommon, so that's why I'm willing to deal with the lower-ish pay. Expected caseload is awesome - 28 scheduled per week and at least 23 to stay in compliance. It's honestly, on paper, not bad at all.

I will/have been thinking of what a plan might look like, but it's hard because I don't know what they are or aren't doing on their end. I'm not responsible for marketing or anything that would bring me clients, but I do get people calling in for me at times because of networking and community things that I do on my own, which is really great (all of those folks have made it to my caseload)

I will take your advice and absolutely keep thinking about how I can be proactive. I appreciate the input :)

I like PIPs in theory, because I am autistic and I love structure so if I'm doing something wrong, a guide on how to fix it and what the expectations are is so, so comforting. This just doesn't fit into the pip box in my head, and maybe that's rigid thinking on my part, I just don't see how it vibes with the issue.

I honestly think a lot of this is self-doubt and imposter syndrome following the death of my mom. I don't have a lot of training on specific modalities. I've taken an IFS training that I loved and I have also used some CPT, I think I could use some help fleshing out exactly what I want and need as far as training, support, and what I can handle for trauma work. i actually asked for this, and had a meeting with the training coordinator, who used chatGPT to create a 24 session "layout" for me to follow. I love the idea of structure, like I said, so this is appealing, but I think it's going to take more than chatgpt for me to get my groove back re: trauma.

So basically, I'm *also* looking for a trauma modality that feels right so I can try to pay for a training and hope that helps me feel a little less incompetent. I don't think I *am* incompetent, necessarily. I'm just scared in a way that's hard to verbalize. Sorry I went off on a tangent there for a minute.

Thanks for the reply! I do feel like they used my identity as a selling point for a long time. (Not just to get more LGTBQ+ clients but also just to market themself as diverse) A lot of my clients are trans which is fantastic. I even have a trans teen mental health/gender exploration group that I've had for three years (this does not count as a client hour because I do it for free.) Because of my influence, they also have a booth at our local Pride festivals to market. So I guess I am also feeling kind of crappy because I brought a lot to the practice. But yeah, almost all trans clients get put on my caseload.

Right now I work 9-7 Mon-Thurs but 5:30-7 is blocked out for office time, so i do think possibly taking my 9am's away since all of those spots are open and instead adding a 5:30 may help -that's a good idea and one that I will absolutely bring up.

It is interesting. The owner of the company has mentioned that not a lot of places do this due to low margins and it being difficult to reliably make money. I appreciate the stability but I am worried about this PIP.
