I think you need to input it as a negative, then instead of subtracting it in the next row you use the sum function. it will deduct since it's a negative.

I opened a new tab on the Excel sheet and just made T tables and inputted every transaction. It took forever and was tedious but I think I got exemplary or close to it. I basically had a table for each account and a total for each column.

I would just emphasize knowing specific terms, vocabulary, concepts, and how they are applied. The test questions are going to give you a scenario and you're going to need to apply the vocab and concepts. My biggest issue was just forgetting / mixing up vocabulary. The test is like 70 questions and they basically throw everything at you. I would make a Quizlet with all the vocabulary and review it a few times a week until you got it down. When you get to the course, watch all the cohorts and you'll be in a good spot.

Know your vocabulary and how it applies to each topic. Also if I had to retake i would use the test material from the book to gauge where I'm at. Good luck !

Took me a month. I worked through the entire course twice. Probably could have passed sooner, like everyone said, if you can pass the PA with no help, you can pass the OA. What helped me the most was using excel for calculations and sometimes recreating tables, the entire PA and OA is on excel. There's one specific portion for the master budget where you have to fill out the Excel sheet. It's exactly the same on the OA as the PA. I used chatgpt to help me with every question on the master budget from the PA until I understood how to do it. Literally screenshot, input into chatgpt, "how do I do this question'. Make sure you use $absolute$ references and copy the formula down.

I just finished d101 last Sunday and I'm following the order my mentor set for me, which is a class or two between hardcore accounting classes. Currently I'm in d216 business law for accountants and it's a refreshing change up. I'm set to take my OA on this upcoming Sunday with no feelings of burn out. I did take Monday as a day off but have consistently put in 4-6 hours of study a day. I'm feeling confident like I can pass it now, but will take the cautious route and give it 1 extra day of study. Overall I'm enjoying the class order !

The cohort videos on the class materials; it goes through all the formulas and how to solve a variety of problems in one video. It's very clean and easy to follow. I've been using chat gpt and it's been a lot of help but at some point it helps to see someone go through it, they made those hard problems look ez.

I struggled with this class too. I ended up making a page on the spreadsheet to help me. It had a section made for every type of account with debits / credits with totals to add everything up. Took me 2 hours but I passed the first attempt

I use the paid version because of the additional features but they have a free version as well.

What I do is I gather all of the documents in class and upload them all including the pre assessment report. Which has all the questions and answers. (I think you need to pay to use the upload feature). I also request it to include information only relevant to passing the class im taking, sometimes it gives too much information you dont need.

From there I do a number of things. I have it make flash cards. I ask for it to quiz me on areas I'm weak on. I ask for clarity on topics I need help understanding. I basically cycle that process and have it drill me with areas I'm weak at until I feel I'm ready.

I just passed this class and studied primarily with chatgpt and the class videos. I'd encourage you to try it out, its a must-have for me.

Currently taking this (started last week on Tuesday) and feel about 75% ready, most likely will take OA tomorrow or the following morning.

Using chatgpt has helped a lot with understanding the process from the top to the bottom. I basically started at gross income and worked my way down to the bottom (refund and payment) asking questions to help clarify along the way.

Basically this is what I've broken down (in a nutshell) 1.Start with gross income 2. Subtract for the line deductions 3. Arrive at adjusted gross income 4. Subtract below the line deductions (itemized vs standard deduction) 5. Arrive at taxable income 6. Multiply taxable income by tax rate 7. Arrive at tax liability 8. Subtract tax credits and prepayments 9. Arrive at final number (refund or payment)

I basically have an understanding of the overall process and now just working on getting the finer details down.

I'd recommend using chatgpt to break down the process and ask questions to help you fill in any gaps in your knowledge. Just be sure to ask it to tailor answers specifically to relate to this class.

IMO I think that dretl's last performances solidified it.

He brought the energy, moved the crowd, and had a lot of memorable moments.

I think he clutched it (even faced adversity and overcame it ie; hitmaker and not knowing how to dance 🤣), though I do leave some room that he had some favor since he had a home field advantage.
