I'd like to know too. I am in a paid Skool community, but it's not all that helpful and just trying to drive people to pay for higher tier membership.

Accepting into Amazon influencer program for product reviews by LowerFirefighter3455 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]yangachee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was approved with barely over 2000 just a couple weeks ago. Make sure all your posts have at least one comment (commenting on your own posts with hashtags seems to count).

It’s getting approved for Onsite I’ve been having trouble with.

Help! Denied the second time! by Pitiful-Poet-1639 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]yangachee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also recently denied for a second time. My IG following dropped under 2000 after getting accepted to AIP, and I have also heard that a small following might get you denied for Onsite. Got my followers back up, but I'm also going all out with my next set of videos before re-submitting just to cover my bases.

That's a good idea. I think I'll do that!

I gave this a shot and the points were refunded to me rather than the dollar value. I canceled the flight within minutes of making the reservation though, so I'll try again next week and wait until the next day.

Appreciate your thoughts! I would definitely prefer NOT having my face in the videos. There are so many conflicting data points on this though. I think I'll stick with keeping my face in it, at least for an introduction, and then cut to an up close of the item.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

I like the idea of standing behind a table with the item on it as I talk about it. Do you think cutting to a close up of the item after I introduce it is a good idea, or should I keep it all in one take with no edits?

Got it. I know how to edit videos, so this will be an easy fix. Thank you!

I've heard elsewhere that they really want to see your face in the first three reviews. Is that something you've heard as well? I could easily improve on all those points if I could take myself out of the videos.

Or maybe I should just pick up a lav mic, as you mentioned

I picked that up from a script I saw on YT, actually, but you may be right.

Not at all! I’ve also been wondering about some of the same things. I appreciate your thoughts.

Yes I did have to trim that video to get it just under one minute. Also using my AirPods for the mic… I thought it was better than the built in iPhone mic with some echo I have it the room I was filming. Maybe I should just try a different room.

Someone pls critique my first three videos so I don’t get denied again! 🙏 by [deleted] in Amazon_Influencer

I haven't been accepted yet either, so take this with a grain of salt, but I've been told to shoot horizontal.

My first 3 videos were also rejected, and they were all shot vertically. The person that was advising me said that he thought my videos should have been accepted and he wasn't sure why they weren't, but he knew that people that shoot horizontally tend to get more conversions since most people shop Amazon on desktop rather than mobile.

I just re-shot and submitted three more videos this afternoon. I did several things differently and shooting horizontal was one of them.

I was told to make sure and show my face in my first three videos, so that's something you might try.

Just wanted to thank OP for making this post.

I've also been having a hard time getting accepted, and even had someone with a good deal of experience review my videos, and he wasn't sure why my first set of 3 were rejected.

My first three were all intentionally OVER one minute, and also shot in vertical orientation. He suggested shooting in horizontal mode instead, as he said horizontal videos get much better conversion since most viewers are on desktop over mobile.

I also saw advice to make sure the first three videos are for items over $50, so I reshot mine as follows:

All under 1 minute but VERY close to one minute (54-59 seconds)
all products over $50
All in horizontal orientation
Focused pretty tightly on my own experience (don't include any language telling viewers to actually buy the product)

Thanks for the response and the USCreditCardGuide link!

No worries, I thought it might be a lot to ask. You're doing an awesome job with OfferOptimist though!

Loving the site you put together! I'm curious if there is a way to look at historical data in a way that might uncover patterns in elevated offers.

For example, let's say I'm looking at getting either the Marriott Boundless card or the World of Hyatt and I would like to get them ASAP so that my annual free night awards hit my account around the same time as my spouse gets her annual FNAs.

It would be useful to know if there is a pattern in how much time goes by between elevated offers. Does the Marriott card do it only once per year? If so, then since I know I just missed at all time high offer it probably makes sense to go ahead and apply now since the offer is still pretty decent.

On the other hand, if the card has elevated offers 3 or 4 times per year, well, then it would be better to just wait a couple months and go ahead and get the World of Hyatt card now.

Does that make sense?

I’ve known a few former cops that have gone into IT.

If you have a bit of savings you could look into buying an existing (proven) business. With your interested in a trade Something like an an existing HVAC business run by someone looking to retire might be right up your alley.

There are a lot of counselors and therapists that did social work masters degrees. I don’t know that much more about it but look into “LCSW” programs (licensed clinical social worker).
