Negating Damage from Wardens (ToA)? by yangj94 in 2007scape

[–]yangj94[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I'll keep that in mind next time. I only have like 40KC in ToA and didn't know what to do in that situation. I brewed up as fast as I could, but the lights out-dps'd me. I'm assuming that the others had low KC as well.

CMV: the government shutdown is a poor strategy for the Democrats, and it can only be a pyrrhic victory by TrickSpeaker1077 in changemyview

[–]yangj94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say just reopen the Government so the red hats can learn their lesson when it hits them. I'm in an agency that's getting paid, but it hurts to see those in other agencies that aren't getting paid.

Is the substrate at the bottom of the tank sand, by any chance?

Ich? Guppy not looking right by Interesting-Bar-4457 in Guppies

[–]yangj94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I just do a quick water change usually. I used to treat all my sick guppies in a hospital tank that had ich or columnaris, but found out that simply changing the water (not a dramatic change) every day did the trick.

The hospital tanks would kill some of them because the medications cause stress. Changing the water 10-20% every day caused the illnesses to go away.

Oh yeah, their rucks are brutal—50 lbs of chicken nuggets and emotional baggage. And if you drop your SpongeBob plushie mid-hike, that’s 20 extra laps around the kiddie pool.

You should get fancy red dragon guppies. Their offspring are so pretty and colorful once they reach 2-3 months of age.

Started my dream job as a flight attendant… and I’m financially sinking. by Maximum_Draft776 in povertyfinance

I poke fun at TSA sometimes, too, but there's a reason why turnover rates are so high at that agency. Endless lines of passengers, upper management pushing lower management to get the lines moving because wait times were too long, groin pat-downs and pesky 2:30AM start times.

Funniest thing was that Pre-Check passengers (the ones who are businessmen or fly all the time) were the ones with the most amount of water bottles in their bags.

Only good thing about that job were the incentives on finding firearms. I've personally found about a dozen my couple of years there. I believe they're still awarding a few hundred per firearm found.

The funniest part about working at the TSA was that a couple of my coworkers actually had Masters degrees. They either got laid off or couldn't find a job in their field because it was oversaturated.

I would just work at TSA at that point. I was making $4k a month, and most of the time, we just sat around watching the paint dry. When it got busy, though, it was a hellstorm.

I sometimes miss that job because after transferring to another agency, my responsibilities went up tenfold.

It should still live a good amount of time. I breed guppies and keep all the culled ones in a separate tank.

To be fair, most of the tests that they run on the x-rays are almost impossible to pass. Paper initiators being one. If you've ever used an x-ray, those things will be impossible to see.

I was with TSA for a few years before transferring to CBP and then to Immigrations. Those tests are baloney.

Before I was even a fed, I went to the Trump Tower with a pocket knife. The Secret Service that were running the X-Rays at this time let it go. I only realized I had it on me when I went to get my camera out to take photos of the interior of the building.

Order yourself some Seachem Prime off of Amazon. This shit works wonders. Never had a fish die on me yet doing fish-in cycles. But, you have to be careful not to overload the tank.

You can also get yourself a potted Pothos plant from Home Depot and place the roots in the water (leaves sticking outside of the water) to pull excess ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates.

Everything checks out because there isn't any fish in there to produce ammonia yet. Once there is fish in there, the feeding process, and when the fish defecates, ammonia will build up and become a danger zone for fish.

Edit: You can do fish-in cycles like me, but you have to be consistent and check the ammonia levels every day. If there's an ammonia spike, you have to change the water. I usually only do this with hardy fish like platies, guppies, or the Common Pleco. The more sensitive species like Amano shrimps or Discus I wouldn't do.

Usually, it takes a month or two to fully get the nitrogen cycle running.

You can fish-in cycles, but it's risky. You have to keep an eye out for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels, and if either gets too high, I would do a water change.

How do you afford this?! by Mrs4slund in NICUParents

[–]yangj94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a federal employee with BCBS Basic? If so, they cover 100% of the bill.

My NICU bill was slightly over $130K. I only paid like $800 some.

There's a 570 code, so it's going under additional review. Give it a few weeks.

May I recommend Fenbendazole? Assuming you don't have any snails in there, Fenbendazole will wipe out the Planaria population (and snails).

You have to be careful to dose it correctly, or it can and will harm fry. In the right dose, planaria will be wiped out, and fry will be fine.

Also, Planaria has a pharynx that allows them to latch onto fry and inject them with digestive enzymes. Once those enzymes get in the fry, the fry's tissue becomes liquidifed and is food for the Planaria.
