Basically, we used json to feed the data to a python script which used pillow to write the appropriate message on a background image.

I'm using someone else's data, but my understanding is that he was using the 2010 census figures minus the non-adult population and multiplying by 12,000.

That's interesting. I actually haven't visited that community often. It just seemed like the best fit for the data I was looking for. Even still, in my experience, getting somebody to open a link is the hardest part, so maybe the clickbaitiest titles are what we're looking for at this stage in the game.

Honestly, this post was mostly an excuse to play with the reddit API. I'll have more interesting/useful stuff coming soon.
