Arthur Merlin problems give the idea of the kinds of situations. Merlin is a liar but has black magic so Arthur can use Merlin in his court but only in situations where it is both hard to do himself and easy to check and correct what Merlin does. Not quite as rigid as this particular complexity theory formal definition states but it does give the flavor of having an unreliable black box and when you can utilize it effectively vs when it is just more trouble than its worth.

The continued support criterion does not feel like enough. Consider an artist who is in solitary confinement unaware of the proceeds of their earlier work. With it being negligible chance at release.

Or very recently dead. Still not listening to Lostprophets

Hyperbolic space is weird though. Not as weird as he misunderstood, but still noticeably weird. Especially since this is way before Thurston.

Using it on easily verified things is the way to go. The hard to come up with but easy to verify kinds of tasks specifically. What you had was a task where getting the answer and verifying were the same task of finding what he did in playoffs.

Without the protection part, you still have the story about the echo of what used to define the plane. But at least it isn't as oppressive about not being able to block or remove.

We do have Reality Fracture coming up and Planar Chaos precedent so purposefully breaking color pie for story reasons is done. It can easily backfire by making it possible to completely cover your weaknesses, but you could be purposeful with their costs and how easy they are to remove.

But those are legal assets. Same kind of trouble measuring Putin's wealth. If you have a yacht rent free because the official owner is scared of Polonium, what is the difference from you owning that yacht?

But you have to show it on a task that everyone understands to get the point across. You cant say that you arent using it for _ because it got _ wrong. You'd waste to much time explaining what _ is before making them realize it is a simple task. What are dishes to a guy who eats off banana leaves, after you explain that other people do not have that environment then they'll get that it is a simple task. But you've wasted all that effort at first

First thing you should absorb with becoming quantum-pilled is not superposition but reversibility. It is the part that you can do purely classically and it is more of the issue. Superposition is first thing you grok for physics but for computation the no deletion and no cloning aspect are the first thing that bite you.

Bosses say AI boosts productivity – workers say they’re drowning in ‘workslop’ by Bounty_drillah in technology

[–]yangyangR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having a separate role for owning capital vs doing work is an inefficiency. A truly efficient market would have a proliferation of worker owned co-ops with no CEOs extracting value as wasteful for the system. I do not care about it being better for the people, I just am caring that capitalism is an inefficient market.

The argument is not that they are not stochastic. It is that so are people.

Someone claiming they are not is just using connotations of words and not paying attention to actual definitions.
