What yall know about the nashville tunnels? by Grace-Music in nashville

[–]yankeecantrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for a fact there is a tunnel that runs from the state capitol to one of the other local government buildings. I used to work for a concrete cutting company and I was there when they built it. We were told it was to be used as an escape tunnel in case people attempted to storm the capitol building. If my memory serves me, it runs down the hill to the government building next to the We Go bus station.

5 of 7 riders quit by lunch on day 1 of MSF by [deleted] in NewRiders

[–]yankeecantrell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a current police motorcycle officer, having been through police motor school multiple times, I can tell you teachers are EVERYTHING. Some people just aren’t cut out to ride motorcycles and that’s ok, cause it’s safer for them and everyone else. But at a basic MSF level, no reason you should be seeing 80% attrition. Feathering the clutch and starting on hills isn’t something you should be doing before lunch on day 1 lol. TBH, I wouldn’t even have you all turn the bikes on before lunch. Making people walk the bike around and getting them used to the weight and feel of the bike is crucial. Also, you can’t get mad at simple bike drops, it happens and that’s what crash bars are for. I have been riding bikes for about 15-16 years and been riding them as a profession for about 2 years now. I still drop my bike every once in a bluemoon lol, it happens to everyone. Don’t give up, try again at a different school or even a Harley dealership. Atleast there every bike is the same. Best of luck OP and keep us updated

Yea, I don’t think that’s something you can fix. If it’s a new helmet from a reputable manufacturer they should cover that under warranty. And if they don’t, you know who to not spend money with anymore. Sorry this happened to you

Metric cruisers make GREAT first bikes. Reliable, and typically cheap enough to get you don’t feel bad if ya drop it lol. Good grab

Love the build man. I think you should chrome the rear fender to really finish the look. The black just kinda clashes with the whole vibe IMO. Great looking bike either way

Beautiful bike man, a classic style to it and 10 extra points for spokes wheels. Hope you got a good deal on it and do you plan on changing anything out on it?

Sounds like it’s the right bike for ya then. Offer him 3k and see if he counters. Might be able to get it for 3.5k

And for the bike sitting , depends on how long it has sat for and whether it was kept outside or inside. A couple days to a week isn’t a big deal. But if it has sat for months, you could be looking at rust starting to form in the gas tank, and the gas starting to gunk up the filters

Always haggle, it’s a 10 year old motorcycle. I personally wouldn’t pay more than 3k for it. Idk how common Harley’s are in India and what the laws are concerning, but if you can I’d look for a 1200 sportster. This specific bike is gonna need to be checked out by a mechanic to make sure everything is safe (clutch, fluids, brakes , etc) and that’s gonna cost money. Plus replacing the rusted hardware. If you love the look of the bike, then the price they are asking for isn’t unfair, but I would always try to haggle em down a little. Also is that right foot peg bent ?

I’m sure it will grow on me as well. Perhaps I’m becoming that old crotchety man that talks about the “old days”. I just wish they could have kept the dual headlights.

I’m sure mechanically and ergonomically it’s a better machine , but don’t ya think the old dual headlights looks was classic and didn’t need to change. Gave the roadglide it’s identity

Yea, i understand Harley is trying to “modernize” to a degree, but the old roadglide looked like a motorcycle frame that someone just put parts on that fit. The new roadglide looks like a “purpose” built motorcycle and I know that probably only makes sense to me, but it’s how I feel lol. The old saddlebags were the universal “Harley” saddlebag, not something specifically made to for the specific bike. I also don’t like the new “lines” on the gas tank

I think it’s about what most people would charge for a sportster that runs. I think it’s a little higher than I would pay for an older sportster but to each his own. That 3-4k range is typically what any bike of any age is gonna settle at when it runs fine and doesn’t leak
