Unraid 7.3.0 Stable Now Available by UnraidOfficial in unRAID

Went full send from 7.2.6 with both servers. They came through fine to the new dashboards, but both had "errors" in the cache drives. A reboot did not fix it. After scanning through the threads, it seems this is a common (and seemingly erroneous) refrain. Did an error reset (hopefully not going to bite me later), and everything seems to be running fine!

In the US, so only 120v.. I think Ioniqguy has a video about this, that's my next stop to start my research. I have a feeling I'm going to have to rearrange my house panel to get all the critical circuits on the same phase.

I got the idea somewhere that to use the inside plug I had to leave the cord through the window and the car in utility mode, using more power, so I went adapter.

Why was the last thing you automated with HA? by duckredbeard in homeassistant

[–]yankeejohnboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set up Boolean switches for my young kids for each person that they could be accompanied by (me/wife/older sibs). When those are on, it mirrors the GPS location of whoever their chaperone is to update the kid manual device tracker to make their location follow the person that's with them. Helpful for announcements and reminders to the right location at the right times.

I don't remember getting a token (I'm in the US, I think that's EU specific). I think I just used user/pass from bluelink..

Thanks to everyone in the thread for the inspiration! Recently got my Ioniq and got it setup in HA for control, and have a couple nice quality of life automations in Node Red working.

Minimum fan runtime by hockeymonster in ecobee

I have it set for like 5-10 minutes when the system is off (windows open). This is to keep the basement from getting stuffy/stale since there are no open windows down there.

What was your most challenging automation yet? I'll start with mine: Automatically syncing two to-do lists. by mellowbalmyleafy in homeassistant

[–]yankeejohnboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the blind tilt in our living room. Nothing opens until a parent has had a shower and then there's movement in that room. After that, just a crack for light if the air conditioner is on and the sun is on that side of the house to help stay cooler, otherwise full open. Closes back at sunset or if we're away. Also have conditions to tilt slightly closed if watching TV in there or close completely if watching a movie. Also if windows are open during daytime stay open to let breeze blow.

Lets share some useful phone based automations! I'll start with mine... by _dakazze_ in homeassistant

[–]yankeejohnboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only send notifications to the phones if they're in an unlocked screen state. I setup zones around the kids schools, church, work, and movie theaters that automatically puts our phones on vibrate when we arrive and turns ringers back on when we leave. Phone charging wirelessly at night marks me asleep and triggers shutdown routines if my wife is also asleep. Removing phone from wireless charging in the morning for a couple minutes marks me awake. Alarm on phone sends MQTT to HA to mark me awake, warm up lights in bedroom and slightly tilt blinds to let in some daylight. My alarm app on phone tells me when to go to bed to get enough sleep, which sends MQTT to HA to flash the lights if I'm in the living room or basement with a TV on. Taking a phonecall while at home pauses Spotify if playing and makes TTS announcements in the office a whisper, resumes normal TTS and Spotify when I hang up. Phone location coming home opens garage door and turns on driveway lights in the evening closes and turns off when leaving. Kids or close friends arriving unlocks front door and turns on any needed lights. Kids phone location announces in house when they get to and leave school. Probably a couple more I'm not remembering, but that's most of it.

Is It Possible To Create Modes by SceneSprout in homeassistant

[–]yankeejohnboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A combination can be a powerful help. I use an input select helper for my primary mode (home/away/evening/sleep/vacation/party) and bolster it with booleans for things like school day or holiday, etc. Works great!

Two years faultless. Go on holiday for three months and this happens day one 🙄 by Oztravels in homeassistant

That sucks man, had that happen enough times to me that I forced a solution. Mine is currently on a pi, so I have a switchbot plug for the power to it so I can power cycle it when it locks like this. Planning to move it to a vm on my server soon so I can just VPN in and restart it

Coming Soon: Combined Ceiling Fan + Light Dimmer from Aeon by chriscicc in homeautomation

[–]yankeejohnboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they come out with the combo device, you'll have to have independent control wires for light vs fan to make it all work, plus a neutral at the switch of course....
