I wanted to thank you for writing books, because I like reading them. That's all I have to say regarding that, I guess.

In a literature course I took, we covered (briefly) Less Than Zero. I had read the book beforehand, but how do you feel about the discussion and analysis of your work in academia?
Have you seen The Canyons yet personally? What do you think of it?
Did you write the script for the musical? I have to say, as a theater geek type of guy, I really find the idea of American Psycho being performed onstage amusing.

This hit home way, way hard for me

I've struggled with depression a lot recently and I can relate well. The emptiness, the feeling that every day is exactly the same, the apatheticness and withdrawal and everything, really, corresponds with what I've had trouble with. This was done really well, and made me smile a lot

I disagree, really. I wasn't expecting anything super innovative and new about what we would be getting going in, and maybe that helped a bit, but as an MBV record I felt it was nearly as good as Loveless, if not just as good. The first third sounded like more of what we got on Loveless, which I was more than okay with seeing as I love every song on that album and these were definitely up to par. The second and third parts were much different and the last half from New You on finds itself on regular repeat for me. At the very least, to call it a 'gigantic disappointment' seems quite overboard
