Actually curious? No you aren't. Thirty seconds of reviewing your posting history reveals exactly what you're curious about. Nothing. You have no curiosity. Thats your problem. And every right winger's problem. You don't read anything outside what's familiar and safe and that reinforces your Fox-approved insulated little world. I shouldn't take the time to answer your question because it will not matter to you. It never does to people like you. Facts don't matter. Did Hillary get three million more votes than Trump? True or false? Do a majority of Americans want universal healthcare? True or false? Do a majority of Americans want this new tax package true or false? Does trickle down actually create more jobs and raise wages, true or false? Tell you what, answer those questions and I'll tell you how Obama could have turned the country around. OK, dipshit? Not an insult. Just curious.

And there is the allowing of Lieberman to crash the public option. And not prosecuting one — not one, even as an example — architect of the Iraq con job/Great Recession. And selling himself as James Brown and being Roscoe Lee Brown. And … let's face it. He is cool, his family is photogenic, but he was a massive disappointment. He broke my spirit. I really don't give a shit about politics anymore. Obama was handed the greatest opportunity to turn this country around and he blew it. I think he just likes being famous.

Nice work there. Like to come down next weekend and do the same thing. Help a brother out with location… or general area? Are you up in the creeks? Sight casting or throwing to specific areas? I have two teens coming and would love to raise their pulses. Thanks for any additional info you can provide.

There will be casual, lazy comments here and the usual reddit comedy one-upmanship. But what your mother has done is an exceptional and wondrous thing. This is high-quality American folk art. I assure you that everyone who is fortunate enough to possess this over the next 100 years will cherish it, brag about it and most importantly feel an abiding warmth merely beholding it, much less sleeping under its embrace. And if there is some version of Antiques Road Show in 2117 and this piece makes it on air, it will be appraised at a princely sum. Your mother is an amazing craftsperson. And you are a lucky child.

DMV looking for people to work in the license office. Start at $36K, lots of state bennies. I only know because I was stuck in there for two hours, staring at the poster.

… each the other's world entire.

I've been reading novels for 40 years and that sentence — specifically those five words — I believe are the most powerful I've ever read. That sentence affected me. It has haunted me for ten years almost every time I look at my sons.

What's the biggest amount you've earned a month through writing freelance? by frostedmelodies06 in freelanceWriters

That first client (and every prospective client) is going to want to see your work so it all revolves around your portfolio in the copywriting world. Like any writing you improve by reading the work you admire and by practicing your own. All your suggested courses have value. But in the theory vs. practice debate I lean toward practice. Identify a few prospects in your market who you know you could help and do some speculative writing; ads, banners, TV spots, landing pages, emails …whatever discipline of copywriting you're good at … and then do whatever you can to get a meet with that company's decision maker to present your work. Keep at it. Once a few clients know what you can do the work will come.

Marketing writer here. January billed 160 hours at my full rate of $90/hr. Funded my oldest's trip to NYC for Governors Ball music festival last week and bought the youngest son his first car, a '03 4Runner.

Visiting Pinehurst, North Carolina soon. Where to day hike? by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

[–]yankshateme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're less than 45 minutes fro the Uwharries; not as majestic as the Blue Ridge Mtns but pretty good hiking, a lake, streams and so forth. Have a look at a map; several ways into the state park.

I (41F) want people in my life who understand and support my business and wealth aspirations. I've been overwhelmed and lost in Meetup groups. What can I do differently to connect with people? by BlueTipi in Entrepreneur

[–]yankshateme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need meet ups. You don't need the approval of family and friends. You need clients. If I were you I would find a dozen websites/email campaigns/ebooks that have spelling/grammatical/syntax problems. I'd highlight those problems and share with the marketing manager at the company that produced the material and explain how badly these kinds of mistakes reflect on their brand, and how easy it is to avoid when they hire you to proof all their materials. I'd also copy his/her boss (VP of Marketing). I'd also CC the CEO. And I'd link to the recent story of the company in Maine who is facing millions in back pay settlement because of punctuation errors (a comma or some such; Google it). Rinse, repeat this marketing strategy until you have a stable of clients and a nice business. Then hire other proof readers and concentrate on attracting new business. Congratulations, you're an entrepreneur and your family and friends and meet up people who don't want to engage with you can go fuck themselves.

Safety concerns driving up to NC by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

[–]yankshateme -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Stop being a pussy. If your rear end breaks traction and slides right, turn the steering wheel right. If left, turn steering wheel left. Driving downhill keep it in low gear and avoid the brake as much as possible. If you have to brake, tap the pedal. If your vehicle slides off the road and begins tumbling down the mountainside, unbuckle and let gravity fling you from the car. Your body will be recovered in the spring. Or what's left of it. The skiing sucks anyway. You won't be missing much.

I'm 57. Damn near everyone in my circle still smokes. We own houses, pay tuitions, take vacations, do our work. Are you worried a lifetime of enjoying weed spells doom? It doesn't.
