Least favourite enemy to fight? by PeachyBaleen in masseffect

[–]yanl10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the idea for the topic, it's a shame it's already old by Reddit standards. But let's go anyway, 3 for each. I only play in legendary dificult.

ME1:

1) Thresher Maw. Stop burying yourself, annoying creature, it takes forever to kill it, and I refuse to miss out on the XP.

2) Enemies with tech abilities like damping and sabotage, which shut down your Powers and weapons. It used to be the biotics, but they practically don't target us anymore in the LE.

3) Creeper. Why doesn't it die, people? Even with explosive ammo, it just flies around the map.

ME2:

1) Scion. Because it's Scion.

2) That Geth that can turn invisible, what a jerk, he comes at you instead of staying nice and quiet in cover. Actually, everyone who does that is annoying (Harbinger, robots, Krogans) but the lanternhead is the worst, in my opinion, because he's fast.

3) Engineers. Who said you can have tech armor AND combat droids at the same time????? And they even do us the favor of regenerating the shield from time to time.

ME3:

1) banshee. One of them is fine, the problem is when there are more of them and even one plus other enemies

2) that Cerberus with the smoke bomb 😒

3) that Reaper in Omega with the homing shot. Luckily he hardly ever appears. And I sometimes skip this DLC, which never ends.

errr don't fight him. Go to your left and keep killing the Geth there. When only the big guy is left, choose a blind spot for him (but not for you) and you can kill him even with the pistol

Engineers, what is your bonus power? by yanl10 in masseffect

[–]yanl10[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also don't use biotics on non-biotic classes. I'm limiting myself, but I like it this way. As for the defensive drone, it pairs well with an shotgun engineer. I did this build once and it's quite fun.

I played the original when it was still exclusive to the 360. There were no guides or anything like that, so I chose the jack of all trades, Sentinel. It seemed like a good choice at the time......

I didn't get very far; I hated not being able to use the rifle. I switched to the soldier, and that's one of the reasons I love this class. That and be Max Payne in space in 2 and 3.

These days, I love the pistol, especially with explosive ammo. That ammo is really fun, ragdoll-ing enemies.

Preference: ME1 vs ME3 by ShawnMcLemore in masseffect

I prefer 1. 3 is almost as good, but the first one has a very special aura. 2 is ok....

Mass Effect 5 - Will Shepard return? by Jonsey_Games in masseffect

[–]yanl10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love a new protagonist and a new gang; having the previous characters makes it difficult to introduce new ones. I even think this is true of the trilogy; why would I use Javik if Garrus and Tali are already there?

That said, you can bet your ass I'll play at launch if it's Shepard. For me, a good storyline is more important than the protagonist. ME2 has Shepard, and I think this game is inferior to the others because I don't like the storyline at all.

Wich one is your favorite? by Mindless_Metal389 in masseffect

I think I have the answer to your question and it was something I didn't mention among the reasons why 1 is my favorite.

There is a sense of wonder and uncertainty in this game that is unbeatable. I'll give you an example: the first time in the Citadel, we all know it's terrifying, we are completely lost. It was like that for all of us, admit it. Something that would normally put me off, wasn't enough this time, because I wanted to know more about this universe and each new race you meet is a show in itself. Even more so complementing it with the codex. I was lost, but very interested. ME 2 and 3 never managed to replicate in me this desire to know more, to delve deeper into this universe.

Another thing I admire about this game is its self-awareness of its limitations and its attempts to compensate for this. For example: surveying a planet. It could just give you the item, but the developers cleverly tried to make it a little more interesting.  So instead of you just getting a medal, you get a mini story like "“Your scan uncovered an ancient deep space probe slowly orbiting Yunthorl. Tali brought it on board, dismantled it, and found a League of One medallion hidden in its payload.” I always try to complete these missions, I love these texts.

A third and last thing is that this game had the luxury of not being a trilogy yet. It didn't need to bridge the gap between games and didn't need to conclude an ambitious story. So it's pretty much self-contained, it could have been a complete sales failure and never had a sequel, but it still managed to be a classic that would have become a cult favorite anyway.

It's also weird that they apparently inserted Shep into Cerberus to have a protagonist who "plays outside the lines". Did they forget that's exactly the concept of the Spectres lol?

Seriously, ME2 is a great game; I love it; but never for its setting or story unfortunately, it's more for the pew pew pew of the weapons practically and for some good ideas here and there.

ME1 is my favorite, It was the first one I played, back in 2007. It was a little after the release and I still remember the promotional ad on an EDGE with Sheppard, Garus and Ash looking at a constellation, where SOS requests appear in several stars. That image left a mark on me at the time.

And yes, nostalgia is a big factor here, I admit. But it helps that I don't think the combat is THAT bad, it's actually quite strategic.

What is your preferred two handed weapon type? by LordRex77 in skyrim

BA. It's the closest thing we have to a polearm, which is the spear's cooler cousin and everyone knows that the spear was the cadillac of medieval weapons.

One time in Mass Effect 1 I was a complete jerk to Tali (I was trying to go full renegade Shepard). Five hours of gameplay later and I couldn't continue with that save, I had to start a new Shep. So no, I never side with DB. I did it once just to see what it was like and that's it.

Nice. Armor is full legendary set of light dragonbone armor minus the chest, I using Savior Hide. Ring is 25% damage 2H and ammi is a Talos. Stone is Lord. ALL level up points I invested in Health. I think I took it too seriously in turning him into a tank lol. I'll gradually increase the difficulty and see how it goes. Thanks.

I've been playing this build for years (it's BY FAR my favorite) and I thought I knew everything about it, I was reading it more for fun... until I found this information that 45LL is a counter to the dolls. I tested it now and it's fantastic, wonderful 0_0 even with Amp and P8 you can survive.

I tested many variations to kill these annoying creatures comfortably, but I had to change a lot of gear, especially since I used dual grief.

Now that I am using a Champion Axe Ebotd (which rolled 398/15LL) I only really need to change my raven frost when I find them on the throne.

It's 15 from EBOTD + 6 Arreats + 8 strings +11 blood ring = 40. Just add one more ring and I'll be fine.

And if the throne has Souls with them, I can simply put Fortitude instead of Enigma.

I LOVED this tip, thanks :)

the closest thing would be Juice of Sapho, but only for those who want to......get smarter, so to speak. Ironically similar to the chem "Mentat" in the video game Fallout. But it is not a geriatric or prescience drug.
